Some proof Ron Paul didn't write those letters.

He says things like "automatic selector" instead of remote control (for TV). He spends too much time thinking and "philosophizing" to worry about pop culture. It's not hard to believe he never heard of GQ. I couldn't tell you what GQ was until reading that NYT piece.

I think not coming clean on this was a mistake. I don't think it's that difficult to have a pretty good idea of who wrote these, and I do not believe the campaign when they say they don't know (which is troubling). Gee, who are the two or three people who have worked with Dr. Paul over the past 30 or so years. So what if they are still involved. I haven't read all of this stuff very closely, but from what I've heard there isn't anything more horrific in these newsletters than what was said by other candidates in the debate last night.

You're exactly right. There have many times in various interviews where something in pop-culture is referenced and Paul had no idea what they are talking about.

I have no doubts that Paul had no idea what GQ is.

It's really obvious that whoever wrote it is a friend of Ron Paul and while Ron Paul also obviously doesn't agree or even approve of the sentiment (just as he doesn't agree with Buchanan on protectionism), he doesn't want to out one of his friends as a racist. Give it up.

I find that extremely inadequate. Out of concern of not "outing" an associate as a racist, Paul is willing to accept the racist label for himself? A label that seriously damages his chances of being elected?

The author of those writings needs to step forward, accept responsibility, and absolve Paul of involvement.
