A better question is why don't men hold themselves to any standards.

He did hold himself to higher standards. He didn't hit on her, and he certainly didn't have any relations with her. You can't control who you're attracted to, and I guarantee her ass drew his eyeballs in and put him under a short trance before ANY thoughts entered his head. I've seen women so attractive that I literally can't talk or think about anything for up to 5 or 10 seconds, but it happens before I realize it and I can't snap myself out of it so there isn't anything I can do about it. It is a natural reaction to seeing an attractive woman's body.

Obama is 46 or 47. Oogling a girl old enough to be your babysitter is indeed creepy. Take it from a former 16 year old girl.

It's weird that a woman would expect men to behave like 16 year old girls. Should he have restrained himself because he knows that the eyes of the world are on him? Sure. He also has to be careful not to pick his nose in public. That doesn't make nose picking "weird". (Although it was weird when a crowed erupted in applause because of how he blew his nose once.) I guarantee he had no clue of her age. As someone else pointed out I doubt you knew it before you read it.

Exactly. Not only is it hardwired and often unavoidable, but the temporary flash fantasies are (in my experience) very positive. Now, in reality the female may be horrified of the idea, but in the flash fantasy, the woman wants to jump your bones. Kind a messed up trick mother nature plays on us guys, and could possibly help you (atc) understand why guys act the way they do towards females in general. Sex is a very positive thing for men, a VERY positive thing.. and for women it seems to be a mixed bag. Seems to me that men are in just as an unfortunate situation as women if not more on this one.. but then again I don't really know cause I've never been a girl.
