So now that Obamacare has passed, what next on the socialist agenda?

What is the next goal of the socialists?

  • Total voters
    112
  • Poll closed .
well, basically the Dem's got health care illegally. ONce the repulblicans take power, id be willing to be they 'outdo' the Dem's and show them how to really operate illegally. Basically, start taking over other countries.

I would say financial reform, followed by cap and tax, uh I mean cap and trade. Did I say cap and tax? My fingers have a mind of their own. lol

Other:

(Already mentioned - National workers ID card)

New assault weapons ban.

I doubt they'll get the weapons ban passed. There are too many pro-gun Democrats in the Senate. There have actually been a couple of good gun deregulation bills (as amendments) from the Senate that the House won't pass.

Hard to say...financial regulation seems most likely. I wouldn't be surprised though if we see cap and trade or some labor legislation as well.

Guns are a health hazard!

They won't go for an obvious gun confiscation scheme. Just a huge conglomeration of legislation that puts reasonable limits and taxes on guns, along with penalties, fines that will make gun ownership very expensive.

And who knows, it might be hidden somewhere in the 2700 pages the Democrats passed last night.

I don't think they'll go for guns unless Obama gets a 2nd term, then look out.

National ID card. It has "bi-partisan" support.

My birth certificate is no longer valid after this summer. I have to get a new one. Curiously, this hasn't really made the news, and I only happened to hear it from someone in the same boat. The new one is supposedly more "secure" against identity theft.

Real ID-compliant state licenses and such are already rolled out.

Illegal immigration topics are being batted around.

Yep, the stage is set.

The healthcare bill was not socialism. There is no socialist agenda being pushed (except by like 3-5 members of Congress, at most).

This is good old fashion American corporate liberalism. There is nothing radical at all being done. The status quo is being strengthened and maintained, not undermined. There is no mass uprising. The working class has never been farther from controlling the state, or, by extension, the means of production.

Calling this socialism is just silly and betrays a shocking lack of education on the subject of political ideologies. Stop parroting Fox News talking points.

There is no socialist agenda afoot. There is, in fact, no radical agenda whatsoever being contemplated or advocated, in the sense that such an agenda would depart from the status quo.

You are one of the anarcho-communists (an oxymoron). Anarchy is no government. Communism is about equality through the barrel of a gun.
