So basically you need to a hardcore libertarian to hang out around here? [admin: no]

as long as they desire to extend the protections and obligations of the constitution equally and individually to all citizens.

LMFAO. It took an Amendment to do that, and most people like to pretend that one doesn't exist.... too funny. Good post.

If we can all agree on one thing - that we will be bound by and uphold the constitution - then all arguments from here forward should be coupled with their justification and legality within the U.S. constitution. There's a real challenge to all of you unless you just enjoy arguing semantics and personal opinions.

Old or new lib-con-theo-secu-crat-lic, whatever, I for one would be glad to have them all as long as they desire to extend the protections and obligations of the constitution equally and individually to all citizens.

I dislike the Constitution and think it should be replaced as soon as possible :p

Can I join the Libcontheosecucratlican Party?

You have to be hardcore to get a decoder ring.
but for general admission, you just have to respect the owner's wishes.
They are outlined in the forum guidelines.

And just exactly who would you trust to write a new one? As I've said before, the minute a Constitutional Convention is convened, every single right that we now have is completely gone. Are you willing to risk it? Personally, I prefer amending the Constitution to clear up those things that are ambiguous, like the "general welfare" clause.

This forum goes through stages and cycles like everything else. The Barr/Baldwin Bashing Brigades came out in force when RP suspended his campaign and it seems we are nearing the end of that cycle. While the majority of us seem be small L libertarians, most of us are registered GOP, who want to return the party to it's stated platform and resume constitutional gov't.

It, also, should be noted that we are a political group who has achieved remarkable successes, because of that we have a following of goons whose sole purpose is to make us look like kooks.

and

E Komo Mai

As always well said :)

You mean the preamble?

"We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

I'd argue it's not really a clause but a general statement of purpose, the rules and protections that follow it are the entirety of its powers toward that purpose unless amended to include new powers previously retained by the people.

Am I right? As I read through the majority of the posts on these forums there is an alarming trend of intolerance for us good ol states rights conservatives. I believe that a constitutional republic is what was intended for this country and believe that a return to the ideals of such as limited government and Federalism is exactly what this country needs, but the libertarian occult nature of these forums is out of control. Almost enough to turn a FredHead convert away from this movement. What gives?

I hope not. I am your good ol' boy conservative.

But as it was from the beginning and is now, there are those who will try to co-opt the movement and the agenda. As the numerous factions fight over the scrapts, the dog takes the meat.

Working together is the only way to take back this country from the globalists and liberty stealers. It is simple.

Also, keep in mind - though I dig libertarians, they seem to have always been a fractured bunch. Perhaps that is what makes them libertarian.

Its easier to see it, when you aren't in it.
The GOP is fractured, but that isn't talked about.
The Dems were fractured, but a lot of the southern dems, started voting GOP in the 90's. That swung the GOP into majority.
A lot of Dems switched over the GOP, hijacking a good platform and purpose.
Now the GOP is fractured.. and the proof?
Twin conventions.

we're also very rude on the internet. then when you meet RP supporters, they're not rude. So i think there's two groups of RP revolutionaries... rude internet people, and real people.

There you go, trying to divide us again....

No, you don't.

We invite and embrace people of all races, genders, sexual preference, creeds, ideologies, and partisan political persuasions.

And then you will be attacked by the handful of chowder heads who have nothing better to do than push their pet political theories like "all of the world's social, financial, and political evils come from monosodium gluconate", anarchists who pose as "libertarians", or CFR moles camouflaging as such.

The Political Spectrum Explained

Does that answer your question?

If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals — if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is. Now, I can’t say that I will agree with all the things that the present group who call themselves Libertarians in the sense of a party say, because I think that like in any political movement there are shades, and there are libertarians who are almost over at the point of wanting no government at all or anarchy.

Or a party hack. Either or. :p

Ron Paul is a reactionary. He wants to go back to a 'proven' system.

The best that could be said of Barr or McCain is that they are recidivistic. Whatever position they had last week, they are truly sorry and promise to change.

Obama on the other hand doesn't really have personal positions. He is a big Dick. That is why he is the center of the current Big Tent party.

Anybody who is for reducing the size of government is welcome here. Some of us are more "hardcore" libertarians, however I feel that we should all get along since we are working for the same goal. I'm an anarcho-capitalist working with this movement even if it doesn't totally mesh with my ideas. Lets get to more limited government first and then from there some of us will continue pressing for even more limited government.
