Snoop Dogg's Facebook!! 13.9 Million Followers!!

The idea of Snoop Dogg and Ron Paul on the same stage at the same time pleases me greatly.

Maybe he should be our VP lol :D

Although I lol'd, I have to say, not a great thing to spread when trying to win a GOP primary

I agree. It may be good for the 18-25 vote but not for older conservative voters. It only reinforces the propaganda by haters that Dr. Paul supports drug use.

Well part of the education older people in particular need to receive is that supporting the decriminalization of drugs isn't the same as supporting drug use.

Too many older people believe that govt. should shape and mold society into what they want. Liberty will never prevail if people don't understand what it even means.

However, Ron Paul has actually supported cannabis use for those who are ill and who receive medical benefits. I think pretty much everybody gets medical benefits from using cannabis, and if that can be proven, then would he essentially encourage cannabis use for anybody who decides they want to do it?

Since Snoop was big by the early nineties (20 yrs ago now) I'd say his appeal spans more the the 18-40 base.
He is probably most relevant to people who are currently 25-35 (the people who were teenagers in the 1990's)

Regardless, Snoop probably doesn't help with the brainwashed Fox News crowd - but those people are probably not checking out Snoop's Facebook page anyways....

you realize that Snoop Dog was around when I was 18-25 right? That's 10 years ago. Anyways. I laugh at the idea of me being and older conservative vote. I said it long ago, the pivotal voting block is the genxers. You need a bridge between the young and the old. That is the bridge.

Yep, as I pointed out a couple posts up. Snoop has been big for 20 years now (his first big album Doggystyle came out in 1993).

I remember being a teenager and young 20 something thinking that anyone in their 30's and up was not cool like me. LOL. I now realize that age is not what makes someone cool. Pretty sure kids are still raging to some of the bands that were "old" back in the day, lol.

I've been slowly warming up to the Bee Gees.

Is this an official endorsement or unofficial?

Either way, Snoop Dogg needs to get out and help Paul with his campaign if he supports him! He could singlehandedly eliminate 50% of Obama's youth vote, and transfer it to Ron Paul! That is a VERY big deal!

C'mon Snoop! Drop it like it's hot, and help help promote Paul some more! We need you, man!

Imagine Snoop Dogg as a guest at one of Paul's speeches? That would be an EXTRAORDINARY boost in Paul's appeal! He could be "Snoop's botha' from another motha'!"

The problem is it's not an endorsement. It's a Chuck Norris/Jim DeMint equivalent shout out.

Snoop needs to Endorse. Make it official. What I suspect is that he's trying to put pressure on Obama.....

He was just arrested this past weekend. Apparently, Politico keeps re-circulating the same story about Snoop wanting to meet with Obama to discuss legalization. Coincidentally, the latest re-circulation of the story coincides with the arrest. Is this far-fetched? I couldn't think of a more hip, influential ally/endorsement.

I refuse to take this as a negative. I also don't believe in saying (unlike others) that people who listen to rap or any kind of music don't vote or don't vote Republican. So, if you listen to rap you either don't vote at all or you vote Democrat? There are plenty of rappers who hate Obama (even for foreign policy) and regardless of what you think they have a significant influence over young first time voters (Think Jay Z and Beyonce hanging out with the Obamas doesn't make them seem cool?).

Wow, I never realized that a possible endorsement by Snoop could be so controversial...

Let me share with you a real life experience. I think it was 2006 (sorry, lost count).
I spent a short vacation in Las Vegas, in December. As it so happened, there was
a radio award show at the Theater for the Performing Arts in the (then) Aladdin
Casino, now Planet Hollywood. 2 hours with one top artist after the other. I remember
Mariah Carey getting a lifetime achievement award, Michael Bublé performing, and
Sugarland being the finale of the show. It cost close to $180 to get in.

Anyway. It was a nicely dressed 30+ crowd that came to this show, which was
broadcast live on TV. Every artist got a nice applause, as did Jaime Pressley who
hosted the show with a guy whose name escapes me.

All artists got a nice applause when they performed or got awards. But when the
curtains opened and Snoop Dogg appeared on stage, with a 11-man band and dancers,
the whole audience stood up and cheered, and clapped along with the 2 songs he did.
I remember it well because I never expected that from this crowd. Also, Snoop was the
only artist that people stood up for.

The point of this trip down memory lane - you never know who Snoop may appeal to... :)
