You come to liberty forest, you want to the latest liberty news... . you click "New Posts"
and you get a rabbit hole of trump2016 shenanigans
@Bryan this is killing the enthusiasm of those of us that bring liberty content to this forum.
We simply can't out compete every new thing trump says or the latest trumpette opinion on it.
Please, Pretty Please:
All "Trump 2016 News" in one long thread, all other trump threads LOCKED.
Either we have an independent LIBERTY news cycle and education process here or we don't.
I and several others that work diligently to bring content here day after day are very frustrated at the rate at which liberty activism and education topics are being drowned in favor of trump2016 content.
the lack of topic moderation is defeating the cause
You should look outside this forum sometime.
And I don't believe for a second you didn't know what I meant. There are a number of Ron Paul supporters backing Trump. If they were here, you would be chasing them around.

Oh come one now, you are being completely illogical about this.

I hope you realize that not all "Ron Paul people" are members of this forum.
LOL, no. I don't understand it, and if I see a questionable remark, I respond. But chasing them around? No.And I don't believe for a second you didn't know what I meant. There are a number of Ron Paul supporters backing Trump. If they were here, you would be chasing them around.
“Trump is going to be the most efficient [at] using the executive orders,” he said. “He’ll say this is the way it is, you know. Obama was pretty arrogant. If you don’t do it, [the] Congress, I’ll write an order. Well, I think Trump [will] be 10 times worse on writing orders because he’s used to doing this, and he brags about it.”
“He wants to be the boss. I’m not looking for a boss. We want somebody that will allow us to be our own boss, is what I think we should be looking for,” Mr. Paul said.
Trump questions need for NATO, outlines noninterventionist foreign policy
Trump said that*U.S. involvement in NATO may need to be significantly diminished in the coming years, breaking with nearly seven decades of consensus in Washington. "We certainly can’t afford to do this anymore," Trump*said, adding later, "NATO is costing us a fortune, and yes, we’re protecting Europe with NATO, but we’re spending a lot of money."
"I do think it’s a different world today, and I don’t think we should be nation-building anymore," Trump said. "I think it’s proven not to work, and we have a different country than we did then. We have $19 trillion in debt. We’re sitting, probably, on a bubble. And it’s a bubble that if it breaks, it’s going to be very nasty. I just think we have to rebuild our country."
He added: "I watched as we built schools in Iraq and they’re blown up. We build another one, we get blown up. We rebuild it three times and yet we can’t build a school in Brooklyn. We have no money for education because we can’t build in our own country. At what point do you say, 'Hey, we have to take care of ourselves?' So, I know the outer world exists and I’ll be very cognizant of that. But at the same time, our country is disintegrating, large sections of it, especially the inner cities."
Donald Trump is calling for an audit of the Federal Reserve.
The GOP frontrunner said it was important to audit the Fed and even called out his rival, Sen. Ted Cruz, for skipping a vote on Sen. Rand Paul’s “Audit the Fed” proposal back in Jan.
“It is so important to audit the Federal Reserve, and yet Ted Cruz missed the vote on the bill that would allow this to be done,” Trump tweeted out.
The TPP is horrible deal. It is a deal that is going to lead to nothing but trouble. It's 5,600 pages long, so complex that nobody's read it. This is one of the worst trade deals. And I would, yes, rather not have it.
I am all for free trade, but it's got to be fair. When Ford moves their massive plants to Mexico, we get nothing. I want them to stay in Michigan.
I think NAFTA has been a disaster. I think our current deals are a disaster. I'm a free trader. The problem with free trade is, you need smart people representing you. We have the greatest negotiators in the world, but we don't use them. We use political hacks and diplomats. We use the wrong people.
Ron Paul on Trump:
With all due respect, who we want is not available. The "Hide under your bed from the Lesser of 2 Evils while you pine for Taft Incarnate" philosophy is bull$#@!.
Trump on NATO:
Trump on FED Audit:
On Free Trade deals:
Audit the FED, de-fund NATO, stop blowing things up in foreign countries, then rebuilding them and instead start building them here, re-negotiate "Free Trade" deals, reverse foreign aid payments…
Dunno… beats the hell out of Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Ted Cruz or John Kasich, IMHO, FWIW, YMMV. Maybe Ron should advise The Donald rather than mention the Trump down side as though it's not amenable.
Again, the establishment HATES Trump. That's my personal red flag for who might be the better choice. Who was the last candidate they hated enough to steal votes from, exclude from debates, vilify in the media, etc? What candidate is calling for a FED audit, pullback in foreign aid, exit from NATO, end of Free Trade agreements?
You could always revive that wet dream stuff like "Let's write in Rand Paul!" or some such other nonsense.

Gullibility is a failure of social intelligence in which a person is easily tricked or manipulated into an ill-advised course of action. It is closely related to credulity, which is the tendency to believe unlikely propositions that are unsupported by evidence.[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP]
When readers believe something to be true before researching it, they are more likely to believe something that supports their prior thoughts. This may lead readers to believe misinformation.
Co-option is the process by which one group gains converts from another group by attempting to replicate the aspects that they find appealing without adopting the full program or ideals.
A red herring is something that misleads or distracts from a relevant or important issue.[SUP][1][/SUP] It may be either a logical fallacy or a literary device that leads readers or audiences towards a false conclusion.
A confidence trick (synonyms include confidence game, confidence scheme, scam and stratagem) is an attempt to defraud a person or group after first gaining their confidence, used in the classical sense of trust. Confidence tricks exploit characteristics of the human psyche such as dishonesty, honesty, vanity, compassion, credulity, irresponsibility, naïveté and greed.
Dishonesty is to act without honesty. It is used to describe a lack of probity, cheating,[SUP][1][/SUP] lying or being deliberately deceptive or a lack in integrity, knavishness, perfidiosity, corruption or treacherousness.
Due to its brevity, the sound bite often overshadows the broader context in which it was spoken, and can be misleading or inaccurate. The insertion of sound bites into news broadcasts or documentaries is open to manipulation, leading to conflict over journalistic ethics.
Media manipulation is a series of related techniques in which partisans create an image or argument that favours their particular interests.[SUP][1][/SUP] Such tactics may include the use of logical fallacies and propaganda techniques,
and often involve the suppression of information or points of view
by crowding them out
There is a way now to exclude the 2016 forum from the "New Posts" listing in your settings.
At first thought, the filter idea is fantastic: Separate and move 'em into an unnamed (wink wink) folder that could contain all pro/con news about you know who; that would clear the rest of RPF from all the distracting chatter. Folder traffic might be low with only 25% stepping into that controversy, but that 25% would still be checking back in with the other 75% that are continuing the RPF mission outside of the 2016 POTUS issues with this one particular (non-Libertarian leaning, scary tyrannical sounding) candidate.
RPF has so many bright minds here - It's a joy, with the common goal of liberty and like-minded takes on news and humor, etc.
This is very much like a Trump rally where the venue has been privately paid for, and "protesters" need to shut up, or leave.
Post some step by step "new post filter" instructions please - and I'm in (and 25% out of that trendy POTUS controversy).
I'm willing to give up a little security and convenience in order to maintain more liberty to be able to speak about it here.
