You come to liberty forest, you want to the latest liberty news... . you click "New Posts"

and you get a rabbit hole of trump2016 shenanigans

@Bryan this is killing the enthusiasm of those of us that bring liberty content to this forum.

We simply can't out compete every new thing trump says or the latest trumpette opinion on it.

Please, Pretty Please:

All "Trump 2016 News" in one long thread, all other trump threads LOCKED.

Either we have an independent LIBERTY news cycle and education process here or we don't.

I and several others that work diligently to bring content here day after day are very frustrated at the rate at which liberty activism and education topics are being drowned in favor of trump2016 content.

the lack of topic moderation is defeating the cause

I like this approach. Also, thanks for compiling tonights -rep list.

Also, please keep up the great work Presence. You truly bring good and well formatted liberty content to me.

You should look outside this forum sometime.

And I don't believe for a second you didn't know what I meant. There are a number of Ron Paul supporters backing Trump. If they were here, you would be chasing them around.

Yoyoyoyo. I respect Bryan's rules for the forum because it is his private property. But just for the record..... LE, present.

Oh come one now, you are being completely illogical about this. This is a huge forum with many categories to do exactly that including the Grassroots categories. The Trump stuff is in the 2016 Candidates forum where of course 2016 Candidates such as Trump are going to be discussed.

Putting all Trump comments in one thread would make discussions too difficult to follow. Also, no one is forcing you or anyone to read the 2016 candidates forum.

I hope you realize that not all "Ron Paul people" are members of this forum.

Side note: I attended my GOP Senate District convention this past Saturday. I had lost touch with all the Ron Paul peeps in my area that I had met when I finally got really serious about getting involved in 2012 and went to the State convention. I was happy to see that there was still a decent core bunch of Ron Paul people showing up and participating. None of them are RPF members AFAIK. William Tell is the only RPF member that I know IRL and he is in an adjacent district to mine.

Good morning kids... welcome to trumpaloompa forums, all trump all the time!

In this morning's news: 9 of 25 new posts are about trump.

of course all this garbage could be merged into a single Trumpaloompa thread.... but no....

much better to drown out liberty candidtates, liberty education, and liberty issues with TRUMP!!!

Please try to ignore the 20 liberty related threads I posted yesterday...
do your best to let the 30 I posted this morning slide to the bottom as well!

You can click on my name to find them under "latest started threads" but please don't bump them because:

LOL, no. I don't understand it, and if I see a questionable remark, I respond. But chasing them around? No.

What i find interesting is some people are reporting and snitching posts that promote trump lol. I find that troubling like a neighbor reporting you to the police for watering your lawn on the wrong day or your dog isnt leashed.

The only posts imo that should be removed are the ones trying to get people to meet up to do pro trump things. And i also kinda wonder how it is decided which candidates members here are allowed to support. There are pro cruz people here. Cruz is a backstabber in my opinion and if he is so great, ron and/or rand would have backed cruz and endorsed. Probably some kasich supporters here too.

But yeah. Its a pity that trump is splitting the entire conservative structure, including splitting the conservative ron paul fan base.

All this wasted energy. Go pick up a book and learn how to start an Orchard or how to build an aquaponics system. Start investing in yourself and give up this foolish idea that anything you do will matter in the Federal system. Focus on local elections. Build a community. No change is going to happen until people feel the pain (i.e., starve to death because the EBT cards are shut off) or electricity doesn't work thus no TV to entertain the zombies.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to liberty; From liberty to abundance; From abundance to selfishness; From selfishness to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage.

We are currently going from dependence back into bondage. Burn Rome down so that another enlightenment period can happen in which maybe the USA fragments into smaller countries. Hopefully a liberty loving country will begin and stick to being a republic instead of morphing into a democracy where the majority rules (free shit army).

Ron Paul on Trump:

“Trump is going to be the most efficient [at] using the executive orders,” he said. “He’ll say this is the way it is, you know. Obama was pretty arrogant. If you don’t do it, [the] Congress, I’ll write an order. Well, I think Trump [will] be 10 times worse on writing orders because he’s used to doing this, and he brags about it.”

“He wants to be the boss. I’m not looking for a boss. We want somebody that will allow us to be our own boss, is what I think we should be looking for,” Mr. Paul said.

With all due respect, who we want is not available. The "Hide under your bed from the Lesser of 2 Evils while you pine for Taft Incarnate" philosophy is bullshit.

Trump on NATO:

Trump questions need for NATO, outlines noninterventionist foreign policy

Trump said that*U.S. involvement in NATO may need to be significantly diminished in the coming years, breaking with nearly seven decades of consensus in Washington. "We certainly can’t afford to do this anymore," Trump*said, adding later, "NATO is costing us a fortune, and yes, we’re protecting Europe with NATO, but we’re spending a lot of money."

"I do think it’s a different world today, and I don’t think we should be nation-building anymore," Trump said. "I think it’s proven not to work, and we have a different country than we did then. We have $19 trillion in debt. We’re sitting, probably, on a bubble. And it’s a bubble that if it breaks, it’s going to be very nasty. I just think we have to rebuild our country."

He added: "I watched as we built schools in Iraq and they’re blown up. We build another one, we get blown up. We rebuild it three times and yet we can’t build a school in Brooklyn. We have no money for education because we can’t build in our own country. At what point do you say, 'Hey, we have to take care of ourselves?' So, I know the outer world exists and I’ll be very cognizant of that. But at the same time, our country is disintegrating, large sections of it, especially the inner cities."

Trump on FED Audit:

Donald Trump is calling for an audit of the Federal Reserve.

The GOP frontrunner said it was important to audit the Fed and even called out his rival, Sen. Ted Cruz, for skipping a vote on Sen. Rand Paul’s “Audit the Fed” proposal back in Jan.

“It is so important to audit the Federal Reserve, and yet Ted Cruz missed the vote on the bill that would allow this to be done,” Trump tweeted out.

On Free Trade deals:

The TPP is horrible deal. It is a deal that is going to lead to nothing but trouble. It's 5,600 pages long, so complex that nobody's read it. This is one of the worst trade deals. And I would, yes, rather not have it.

I am all for free trade, but it's got to be fair. When Ford moves their massive plants to Mexico, we get nothing. I want them to stay in Michigan.

I think NAFTA has been a disaster. I think our current deals are a disaster. I'm a free trader. The problem with free trade is, you need smart people representing you. We have the greatest negotiators in the world, but we don't use them. We use political hacks and diplomats. We use the wrong people.

Audit the FED, de-fund NATO, stop blowing things up in foreign countries, then rebuilding them and instead start building them here, re-negotiate "Free Trade" deals, reverse foreign aid payments…

Dunno… beats the hell out of Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Ted Cruz or John Kasich, IMHO, FWIW, YMMV. Maybe Ron should advise The Donald rather than mention the Trump down side as though it's not amenable.

Again, the establishment HATES Trump. That's my personal red flag for who might be the better choice. Who was the last candidate they hated enough to steal votes from, exclude from debates, vilify in the media, etc? What candidate is calling for a FED audit, pullback in foreign aid, exit from NATO, end of Free Trade agreements?

You could always revive that wet dream stuff like "Let's write in Rand Paul!" or some such other nonsense.

Trump wants to "bomb the shit out of" ISIS; after that, he wants to end current wars and start new ones in Asia and Central America.

There is a way now to exclude the 2016 forum from the "New Posts" listing in your settings.

At first thought, the filter idea is fantastic: Separate and move 'em into an unnamed (wink wink) folder that could contain all pro/con news about you know who; that would clear the rest of RPF from all the distracting chatter. Folder traffic might be low with only 25% stepping into that controversy, but that 25% would still be checking back in with the other 75% that are continuing the RPF mission outside of the 2016 POTUS issues with this one particular (non-Libertarian leaning, scary tyrannical sounding) candidate.
RPF has so many bright minds here - It's a joy, with the common goal of liberty and like-minded takes on news and humor, etc.

This is very much like a Trump rally where the venue has been privately paid for, and "protesters" need to shut up, or leave.
Post some step by step "new post filter" instructions please - and I'm in (and 25% out of that trendy POTUS controversy).
I'm willing to give up a little security and convenience in order to maintain more liberty to be able to speak about it here.

It's mostly if not all confined to the 2016 forum here. Bryan posted how to filter that from new posts, but I can't find that link at the moment.
