Should nudity be allowed?

every woman the man knows is his wife.
that is why the marriage is not sealed until consumated under religious tradition.
I'm not saying this is my belief- no where close, but this is a very reasonable interpretation of genesis.

So does that mean all those people who sleep around approve of polygamy? Or are they just ignorant? Or is it possibly that they are just hypocrites when they look down their noses at the FLDS people?

The real question is, why is polygamy illegal while so many people perhaps unknowingly practice it?

Well, homeschool parents homeschool because they want to have control over what their child learns and when.
To expose yourself to a child is forcing a knowledge unto them their parents may not wish to teach them yet.
To me, that is disrespectful and an act of aggression if it was imposed on someone who didn't voluntarily come to your property. which you have every right to traverse how you see fit.

So if I don't like the idea of my children seeing people who have no hair on their heads, we should make it mandatory that bald people wear hats in public? Or perhaps we should require all people to wear hats in public so my child doesn't ask why only some people are wearing hats. Perhaps I don't wish to teach my children some people are bald and others just shave their heads to pretend they are bald.

Nude beaches are one thing. If there's a sign, I know what I'm (not) getting myself into. Nudity on private property is fine with me. But last weekend there was a nude bike ride through the capitol of Vermont. First of all, whoever came up with "nude bike ride"? Blech. Seriously. That's just gross. The organizers say it was an event meant to draw attention to a more sustainable energy policy. Mmmmkay. However in any conversation that I heard about it, energy was not mentioned, only queer pride.

Interestingly there is no law against public nudity in VT. If you leave your home in the nude you're all set and can go wherever unless there's a shoes/shirt required sign. It is illegal to disrobe in public.

I don't like the IDEA of public property...
because it leads to this statement, "for the common good". which is marxist in nature, but its a by product of public ownership.
so- in a society that recognized public property, the tyrannical majority decide what you can do on that property.
now excuse me, i need to barf.

What a blasted hypocrite you are... LOL.

This thread is hilarious.

Oh how the tables are turned... YOU MARXISTS!!!

Nudity should be allowed on designated public lands, and private property.

Even if that private property is in view of others who may object?

So what? I object to that hideous torture device you people put on top of your buildings, does that mean I ought to be allowed to have it lawfully removed?

Well, I don't think any laws are justified if said act doesn't cause me physical harm (that might include financial). So I would just let it be up to individuals to shame the offending parties. No government involvement required.

Maybe this says more about me than anything else, but I'm a little grossed out by the idea of people leaving skidmarks on public benches and such. I see this as a hygiene issue. Now, I know we could address the skidmarks as they happen... but I'd rather just take steps to avoid it in the first place. Police don't prevent skidmarks. They just show up after skidmarks have occurred.

Actually, I agree on private property one should be able to do as he pleases.
The reason I asked was because, on private property where nobody can see what is going on, nudity is allowed.

And I don't like those hideous torture devices you mention any more than you do.
I think they are an eye sore.

I have been looking at he Constitution and some other writings. I just can't find anywhere "the right to not be offended".
Some people will be offended at anything.

I find some styles of dress offensive, and others just stupid. Ignore it.
I find some odors offensive, but other people like them.
I like the smell of cooked meat (BBQ), others find it offensive.(PETA)

Then there is architecture. Ugly buildings. What are some of these people thinking.

As much as I hate PETA, they at least are passionate, and go about things the right way... in my opinion.

I agree with you. I think there is no inherent right to not be offended, you can always avert your eyes, cover your ears, or simply walk away.

You do know what I was talking about...right?

Hmm. I could have swore you were one of the "belligerantes"

I think those represent the letter T. They have no place in the Christian religion.
If Christ was killed in the electric chair, would all of those buildings have a chair on the roof?

How fascinating... I believe Lenny Bruce made that comparison famous during one of his stand-up routines.

I've always mentioned in my strategy sessions that the best way to combat the fundamentalists was to stick them against each other...

I am not against the fundamentalists so much as the misunderstanding some of them have as to how paganism has infiltrated the Christian faith. Many don't understand how far it has gone and accept it with open arms.

I would imagine drooling is another hygiene issue too (assuming the nudes are hot!).
