Should nudity be allowed?

you can be naked all day long in the privacy of your home. its your property.
once you leave your property, you better dress to what is required on someone elses property.

What about public property?

What about public property?

I don't like the IDEA of public property...
because it leads to this statement, "for the common good". which is marxist in nature, but its a by product of public ownership.
so- in a society that recognized public property, the tyrannical majority decide what you can do on that property.
now excuse me, i need to barf.

Well, I guess the question should be asked, who does it hurt if you don't have your cloths on and people see you that way? If it doesn't hurt anybody, then should it be illegal not to wear clothes?

I'm all for nudity. Let people do what they want.

That said, I wouldn't be interested in dating a woman that walked around naked in front of men she didn't know.

if it's public property you vote on it, like they did. They voted 6-5 in favor of keeping it a nude beach. If people are upset about that then they need to either go somewhere else or educate others on why it is such a bad idea to have nake people around. I get the feeling from this article though that only a small group of people are complaining. The beach has been a nude beach for 25 years.

Well, homeschool parents homeschool because they want to have control over what their child learns and when.
To expose yourself to a child is forcing a knowledge unto them their parents may not wish to teach them yet.
To me, that is disrespectful and an act of aggression if it was imposed on someone who didn't voluntarily come to your property. which you have every right to traverse how you see fit.

I dont care if you go nekkie in the privacy of your home, just dont force me to look at your gross ass.

Well, I do have a problem with a public place which allows behavior so patently repulsive that I must stay away, while paying for its upkeep. I have no problem if it is on private property, and the lardasses in those photos keep their repulsive fat rolls out of view of other peoples line of sight (from other private property or public property).

If God had wanted us to be naked we would have been born that way.

Much ado about what someone does on on a private beach.

I would say it is up to the local community. What passes for clothing in Key West would not go in small Midwest towns.
If you don't like it don't look, or get over it.

?? Well what about roads? Should all be private? Access to water, private too?

I'm open to this argument as Amy has propositioned before, just not convinced yet.

There's nothing wrong at all with having specific areas of public property set aside as clothing optional. If anyone doesn't like it they can avoid those areas.

:D

I am not opposed to nude beaches. I don't really want to go to one. As long as it is a designated area and I have a choice not to go see.

Like Kalifornia said: don't force me

I have always wondered how our society got to be the way it is about nudity. If you go to some places in New Guinna, it is common to see nude people and nobody thinks anything of it.

I tend to believe it is a learned attitude.

I didn't say everything had to be private, but you will have to tolerate the common good on public grounds.
So if the public thinks you car model is unfit to ride on the roads because of whatever reason, then you will not be able to drive on it.
For the common good means majorities will.
Public Roads come with a big price tag if you ask me.

This cracked me up. Just what knowledge is that? That when the little boys grow up they'll have hair on their butts and the girls will have saggy tits?

No. It's got very little to do with knowledge and the forcing thereof. It's got everything to do with what your average person is comfortable with. In this culture, odd thought it may seem, the natural human body makes people uncomfortable. The way it's hidden and only whispered about, is it any wonder that a child would be confused, or excited, or scared by it?

There is no libertarian argument against nudity on public property, ie roads, buses, parks, etc. The truth is, all societies have norms which when broken cause all kinds of discomfort. These norms invariably encroach on an individuals freedom. Welcome to human nature.
