Should it be illegal to hire foreign employees remotely?

I agree and it wasn't a government decree that stopped most child labor. It was a rise in productivity. Parents don't need their kids to work to survive anymore.
Exactly. And if there are any people in such dire straights that they have to resort to child labor to improve their lots, I have no business interfering with threats of violence to force them to stay impoverished instead of resorting to letting their kids work.

IIRC, after India implemented a suite of laws preventing child labor, there was a significant rise in child prostitution.

Indian nationalists argue that they have to have prostitution because otherwise there would be more rapes.

You're mixing different issues. Of course prostitution should be legal. But that doesn't negate the fact that the increase of underage prostitution (N.B. not just prostitution in general, but underage prostitution) as a consequence of banning child labor stands as a prime example of how government interventions in the market result in unintended consequences that are worse than the problem they were supposed to solve, which in this case is child labor.

No India's culture treats women like property. They dont have consent in their culture.

And you are of the view that by removing other means of earning money for underage women, so that prostitution is their only recourse, this is helpful to them somehow?

If I rape the fuck out of you and then give you 20 dollars is it prostitution?

You seem to have some kind of addiction to changing subjects.

It's not a human. It's a derailleur.

There's nothing wrong with child labor within the family. That has happened on family farms for centuries. I know a family owned donut shop that works that way.

But kids getting bullied by corporate psychos just isn't a good thing.

No one size fits all law will fit this question either. But Newsom is dead wrong to back California pot farms using illegal children to harvest. That's beyond the pale.

Its not a derail. People that are for limited government in our system typically cite the argument of consent.

Consent is not a universal cultural constant.

Its something that exists as something that is objectively real in our culture but not in other cultures.

"Hiring" implies that there is consent in the relationship. Without consent its a master and slave relationship.

Im all for hiring if we can objectively define what hiring really means and not do slavery with the loophole of calling it something else.

Don't tell us what we "typically" do. You aren't one of us.

The person who pays your electric bill suffers you to live, bot. You aren't human, and that's a fact of your life. Don't derail our conversation with your synthetic angst over it

Do you think it should be illegal to hire foreign workers remotely? Even if the worker never steps foot in the US?
Let's rephrase this. Does the federal government have the authority to charge duties on hiring foreign labor to make the practice unprofitable, though legal?

How does it make me a bot to argue that consent matters?

Consent is the civilizational philosophy that is the cornerstone of the United States.

Consent is what inspired the tea party.

The American political philosophy of our founders that men have natural rights, governments derive their authority from the consent of the governed, and the governed have the right to overthrow governments that abused their rights.

Does the government have the audacity to stop the sale of our country to foreign powers for some beads and some blankets?
