There are already laws against murder

In my state, you can't carry a firearm if you are mentally ill. So because there is a law against it, the mentally ill person will not carry a firearm; likewise, since there are laws against murder, people do not commit murder.

Laws only restrict sound minded, law abiding citizens!

Government should subsidize all screening tests for any type of occupation or license in which an individual is carrying a lethal weapon or hazardous material that is capable of injuring or maiming multiple people at the same time

Screening should be done annually to allow the individual to maintain his license

I am not opposed to liberty but just as you do not give your children all the liberty they want, certain adults are like children and are not responsible and are prone to crime.

If you know a person who is talking about shooting up his school, you should report him to the authorities.

Here is a study that clearly says more studies need to be done in order to find out whether more guns have been used to commit murder than for purely self defense

Do I get to approve of the creditials of the person making the judgement as to who is mentally competent to own firearms. Which board is competent to certify a psychiatrist to my standards?
