Should I vote?

Thanks for doing your part to keep this great democracy functioning

y/w:up: If Vermin weren't running I would just be writing in imaginary candidates as usual. It gums up the works a bit and entertains me. Plus, it's a de facto non-vote, so no harm done. :)

Either way it gets added to our nation's voter turnout statistics, which is often used as a measure of the health & legitimacy of an elected government.

So thank you for adding legitimacy to our great government

I've always been excited to begin voting for the Libertarian Party, expressing my dissent with the two major-parties. But as my principles are developing and coming together, I worry that voting will express that I do actually consent to being governed, which I don't. This government does not have my consent. I feel like I can't say this whilst actively partaking in the electoral process, which elects people into positions of authority over others.

What do you think?

I’d suggest going to as many left wing websites as possible and advocate for people not to vote.

You still pissy because I asked a critical goddamn question about our own philosophy? You're just as childish as the Democrats and Republicans.
I know an enemy troll when I see one.
Your "question" was a baseless smear attempt.

My main reason to NOT vote was (some 20 years ago) that politicians don't keep promises.
At that time the bombing of Serbia for geopolitical reasons was the last straw (I haven't voted since): http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?510520-Destruction-of-Yugoslavia-%96-Soros-amp-Mabel

Since then, I've learned that the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where I survive, is effectively a dictatorship under the ruthless House of Orange-Nassau, with politicians that are no more than spokespersons for these Royal degenerates.
But then again, I don't believe that NOT voting will make our "democracy" a better place...

There have been some attempts to ridicule our so-called democracy, but I find it questionable to vote for politicians, whose aim is to ridicule, while they are running at the same time (which doesn't make sense to me)...
HADJEMAAR, BIAFRA
Some people have entered politrics to ridicule it.
In 1921 the homeless, alcoholic beggar “Hadjememaar” (You’d-like-to-have-me, Nelis de Gelder) and his running mate Bertus Zuurbier were elected for the Rapaille party to the city council of my home city Amsterdam (see the photograph). In a clear disregard for democracy an emergency law was passed by Dutch parliament and they even arrested Hadjememaar shortly before the elections to prevent him from taking his rightful seat. They forced Hadjememaar to resign from the city council: http://listverse.com/2016/01/20/10-ridiculous-political-parties-you-wont-believe-got-elected/

In 1979 the front man for punk band Death Kennedys - Jello Biafra - finished fourth in the election for mayor of San Francisco: http://archives.sfweekly.com/shookd...-biafra-came-in-fourth-in-the-sf-mayoral-race

RHINO, DOGS, DONKEY, GOAT, FICUS - NOBODY FOR PRESIDENT
Arguably Jello Biafra and Hadjememaar should be taken more seriously than crooked Hillary Clinton or Donald Duck Trump. Even animals (unfortunately no ducks or lizards) have successfully entered politrics.
Back in 2000 when Michael Moore was still making interesting satirical television, 23 ficus plants were running for congress, but the election committee refused to count their votes. The following was part of the campaign http://www.democracynow.org/2000/6/7/ficus_for_congress

Here are some of the non-humans that actually won elections: Pulvapies foot powder (1967, Ecuador); Cacareco the rhinoceros (more than 100,000 votes in 1959 in Brazil); Boston Curtis the mule (1938, Milton, Washington); Billy Gumboot the goat (1999, New Zealand); Tai the poodle (New Zealand); Stubbs the cat (major of Talkeetna, Alaska for 15 years):

In 1981 the town Sunol, California elected Bosco, the black Labrador and Rottweiler mix, for mayor.

Since the 1960s “Nobody” has entered the presidential election campaigns. Probably the “Nobody” for president campaign of 1976 led by Wavy Gravy and Curtis Sprangler was the most successful: http://hoaxes.org/archive/permalink/nobody_for_president

Why? You prefer that libertarians not vote, but all of the ignorant masses continue?

What a tragically 21st (18th?) century leftist you are, thinking that voting will save the day, that the people cannot oppress themselves, etc.

...by all means, vote; avoid stepping on those cracks on the sidewalk too (just in case).

Let me know when your coup happens.

Let me know when your coup happens.

It's not my coup (I have and will have nothing to do with it), so, no can do.

It's rather like how the Marxoid retards believe that a proletarian revolution is inevitable because of progressive impoverishment.

The key distinction is that they're retarded while I'm correct.

No worries, we'll see what happens.

Pardon us while we do something for liberty other than sit around and wait.
