Serious question...

The notion of "racism" is a leftest weapon used to overthrow the existing order. We are programmed to fear this weapon when it is deployed, and rightly so; it has destroyed many good men and no few bad ones; and Dr. Paul is no exception. It can hurt the momentum of his campaign and thereby the campaign itself. I do think that the author should come public and absorb the criticism being leveled at Dr. Paul. I do not know for a fact, although it has been rumored, that the author or editor in charge was Lew Rockwell.

I keep hoping Lew will take one for the team and end the issue for good.
One thing to watch out for is over commenting on these stories. Many site sort stories by "Most Commented" so having 1000 denials is a way to bring the story to the top of the feed.

If Lew did write them, it would be the absolute worst thing for him to come out now. Not only will it paint libertarianism as racist since he is one of the biggest libertarian figures out there, but it will be an even bigger negative story about Ron Paul. Ron has been very close with Lew over MANY years, he was his congressional chief of staff, and they are still very good friends today. The media would have a complete field day over one of Ron's closest associates having written them as well as the fact that Ron still associates with him.

Ignore this. To even be drawn into a discussion amounts to taking the bait.

The proper reponse should be...

"This crap about old newsletters that he didnt even write is just a cheap way for the Establishment to stop the Ron Paul express."

We are 15 Trillion in debt...an additional trillion + being added each year...we're on the brink of another senseless war...Obama is killing America.....Forget this shit and let's talk about real issues!"

Got it?....Just deflect it and go on the counter-attack.
Maybe you should choose a phrase other than the "Ron Paul Express"--don't like the train parallels. Trains get derailed. :)

The comments in the newsletters were disgusting. Paul's initial response was questionable. ("I listened to my advisors who said I should not say I didn't write them.") I am certain he did not write them. I also believe him when he says he doesn't know who wrote them. Furthermore, I believe he really abhors racism. His public writings and speeches, the policies he favors. Pardoning all non-violent drug offenders would do a lot more good to minorities than any policy instituted by Obama.

I think the newsletter will be brought up again and again and again. Every single media person who is not on board with the fight for liberty will use it every chance they get. But I think that it won't matter. The barrier is breached. This movement cannot be stopped. Sorry, neocons. This century is ours.

I still think the campaign should have some amount of coordinated plan for any caucus speeches that attack this very issue with quotes from Paul about not writing them on multiple interviews etc.

Caucus night speeches could mess up a winning effort.

Somebody needs to be held accountable for this. Ignoring the issue doesn't make it go away as we've seen. There has to be a way to find out who was writing the newsletters at the time. We are the greatest grassroots movement in history and if we squash this we will be unstoppable.

Notice the exact timing used by the MSM

Hannity kicked this off a week ago, in time to write the narrative and keep it in the minds of americans during the holiday season and onto the adjacent iowa caucus.

However i beleive RP is quite well insulated from attacks because lets face it, the man NEVER lies.

LA Times out with a featured editorial saying Ron Paul is a racist

Ugh.

This story is like 5 days old now (not to mention years...).

Hopefully Ron will be able to get over this libel/slander but I fear it could cause the movement great damage..The media knows this is their ace in the hole and won't let this issue sleep, ever in my opinion..
