Bill won't ban ‘assault weapons’ or raise minimum rifle age, but paves way for red flag laws and expands background checks. (which do nothing to criminals getting guns illegally)

The Senate has reached a deal on gun control legislation Sunday after 10 RINO Republicans are reported to join Democrats in a 60-vote threshold.

The deal does NOT include Joe Biden’s proposals to ban “assault weapons” or “high-capacity” magazines and raise the minimum age of purchasing firearms to 21, but it does expand background checks for individuals under 21.

Additionally, the deal includes Republican proposals like expanded mental health services and school safety measures.

However, the agreement would incentivize states to pass their own “red flag” laws to establish gun purchase restrictions on individuals a judge has deemed a threat.

Biden thanked the Senate for getting a gun control deal ironed out despite the fact it doesn’t ban “assault weapons.”

“It does not do everything that I think is needed, but it reflects important steps in the right direction,” he tweeted. “With bipartisan support, there are no excuses for delay. Let’s get this done.”

I want to thank Senator Chris Murphy and the bipartisan group for their gun safety proposal. It does not do everything that I think is needed, but it reflects important steps in the right direction.

With bipartisan support, there are no excuses for delay. Let’s get this done.

The bipartisan group of senators released a press statement outlining the deal:

Families are scared, and it is our duty to come together and get something done that will help restore their sense of safety and security in their communities. Our plan increases needed mental health resources, improves school safety and support for students, and helps ensure dangerous criminals and those who are adjudicated as mentally ill can’t purchase weapons. Most importantly, our plan saves lives while also protecting the constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans. We look forward to earning broad, bipartisan support and passing our commonsense proposal into law.”The proposal includes:Support for State Crisis

With the 10 Republicans on board, the Democrats should be able to clear the 60-vote threshold to pass the gun control bill that will then head to Biden’s desk.

Those aren't RINOs. Those are the heart and soul of the Republican party. They are the pure, true, genuine Republicans, who put the party before all else, including principles, and it doesn't matter anyway, because their principles themselves are the ones that line up with the principles of the GOP, to the extent that it has any, as evidenced by its history, its leadership, the sources of its funding, and the kinds of candidates its members perpetually nominate for president.

A Republican In Name Only, is what Ron Paul and his ilk are. And it's something to brag about.

That's BS. Those RINOs violate many tenants of the Republican Party platform.

I do agree, however, that the RINOs and the Deep State/CFR types currently control the Republican Party though.

Party platforms are irrelevant. They have nothing to do with what the party stands for.

Those who control the Republican party are not Republicans In Name Only, as proven by the fact that they're the ones who control the party. They are the quintessential Republicans, who define the meaning of the label Republican, a label that should be worn with shame, not aspired to.

There's what the bill claims to do and what the bill will really do in practice. Let's see here....

Intervention Orders
Provides resources to states and tribes to create and administer laws that help ensure deadly weapons are kept out of the hands of individuals whom a court has determined to be a significant danger to themselves or others, consistent with state and federal due process and constitutional protections. (Read: More patrols of low-income communities, creates a "snitching" system to remove the rights of any target.)

Investment in Children and Family Mental Health Services
National expansion of community behavioral health center model; major investments to increase access to mental health and suicide prevention programs; and other support services available in the community, including crisis and trauma intervention and recovery. (Read: Puts people people who oppose the state narrative into "mental re-education" programs.)

Protections for Victims of Domestic Violence
Convicted domestic violence abusers and individuals subject to domestic violence restraining orders are included in NICS, including those who have or have had a continuing relationship of a romantic or intimate nature. (Read: Takes already bad programs and adds those names to a national database)

Funding for School-Based Mental Health and Supportive Services
Invests in programs to expand mental health and supportive services in schools, including: early identification and intervention programs and school based mental health and wrap-around services. (Read: Targets the nonconformists early to beat them into submission.)

Funding for School Safety Resources
Invests in programs to help institute safety measures in and around primary and secondary schools, support school violence prevention efforts and provide training to school personnel and students. (Read: New Federal program to do what States should already be doing, with Federal requirements and restrictions how to stay attached to the teat.)

Clarification of Definition of Federally Licensed Firearms Dealer
Cracks down on criminals who illegally evade licensing requirements. (Read: Even more deadly interactions between police and low income communities)

Telehealth Investments
Invests in programs that increase access to mental and behavioral health services for youth and families in crisis via telehealth. (Read: Please add yourselves and your family members to our National Watch Database!)

Under 21 Enhanced Review Process
For buyers under 21 years of age, requires an investigative period to review juvenile and mental health records, including checks with state databases and local law enforcement. (Read: Makes it even more burdensome for people to purchase guns legally - encourages them to get them illegally.)

Penalties for Straw Purchasing
Cracks down on criminals who illegally straw purchase and traffic guns. (Read: Targets low income communities and family gifting)

Let's see. Red flag laws. Where did I first hear that idea proposed? Oh, yeah. It was from freaking Donald Trump! I'm glad Rand Paul didn't for for this. (He at one time voiced support for some type of red flag law). And this is the "4D chess strategy" I've heard from defenders of Trump on his bump fire stock ban. "Oh he had to give them SOMETHING." Give some people an inch and they'll take a mile. And these Republicans are patting themselves on the back. "We've stopped the assault weapons ban." Umm....no they didn't. The democrats have already announced they plan to do that through reconciliation.

I do agree, however, that the RINOs and the Deep State/CFR types currently control the Republican Party though.

The problem is that when 95% of the party (and I'm probably being generous) eats peepers, then part of the party platform is eating peepers. A political party is an empty vessel defined by its members.

"BETRAYED: The back-stabbing GOP Senators involved in the gun control deal announced today are John Cornyn (TX), Lindsay Graham (SC), Thom Tillis (NC), Richard Burr (NC), Mitt Romney (UT), Bill Cassidy (LA), Roy Blunt (MO), Susan Collins (ME), Rob Portman (OH), Pat Toomey (PA).Worse, Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell is signaling his support too.

The deal reportedly includes Red Flag Gun Confiscation, Expanded Gun Registration, and restrictions on the rights of military age Americans to purchase firearms.

If these are your Senators give them an earful! And wherever you live, tell BOTH of your Senators to oppose this gun control deal!"
