He talks about how Mitt "mandate" Romney is the front-runner.

He also talked about the Tea Party but NO mention of Ron Paul.
I'm rather disappointed...
I was really hoping Lee would be one of at least three Senators that would support Ron in 2012.

Considering Ron endorsed him? I could see him having 'too many friends' to want to get caught in the crossfire, although it would make it clear he's only willing to go so far. But to not mention Ron is disappointing, particularly since Ron endorsed him. And Ron Paul supporters were very active getting him the primary.

I'm hoping Lee was just being gracious to his fellow Utes...

I'm really hoping.

My fingers are crossed that he's waiting for Ron to announce before saying anything good... :collins:

Maybe because Ron Paul hasn't officially announced yet? I dunno

I will lose a lot of respect for Mike Lee if he endorses Romney but I also know that Romney is extremely popular in Utah because of his religion. So it would probably upset a lot of his constituents if he endorsed someone else other than Romney. I say screw it, endorse Ron Paul!

That show is propaganda central. For the reasons you listed, they knew that Lee would support Romney (and Huntsman), which is the reason they asked him about those two candidates from Utah. They did it to drive a wedge in the Tea Party movement. And if Lee had said anything negative about Romney or endorsed Ron, they would use that against Lee.

Me too.

I don't know why Romney is popular there though, he's not exactly the best Mormon role model, he doesn't adhere to their beliefs for the most part, especially on his pro-abortion stance.

We seeing some hatred from friendlies now... oh the political season is upon us.

The election is 4 years away from his reelection as a Senator. I doubt something so minor would be remembered by then.

Mike Lee would be much more likely to endorse Rand if he ran for President. Rand would at least have a chance to win the GOP nomination.

This.

But he still should have mentioned RP>

I'm really not so sure about that. I don't think Huntsman will be a credible contender, and I highly doubt Lee will endorse Romney just because he's mormon.

I think it's possible he gets behind Romney IF Romney secures (or is about to) secure the nomination, but Lee will either stay neutral or endorse Ron Paul, I think.

I wonder if Mike would endorse Ron if he officially announced. I have a feeling the only Senator to give Ron an official endorsement would be Rand. I also wonder if any members of the house would endorse Ron. Maybe Walter Jones?

Romney is the frontrunner based on the polls. Mike Lee was just stating the obvious. He didn't endorse Romney. Also, he only talked about the candidates he was specifically asked about. It's not like he listed off a bunch of candidates and left out Ron Paul. He didn't mention Palin, Bachmann, Huckabee etc. either. I don't think someone who voted against the PATRIOT Act is going to endorse Mitt Rommel.

It might be in his best interest to not endorse anybody in the primary. Is a Mike Lee endorsement really going to help Ron Paul regardless?

I was very disappointed with Lee in this interview. He used to work for Huntsman and some other neo-con schmuck that I can't recall.
