SCOTUS legalizes Gay Marriage - 10th Amendment Obliterated

And you are woefully ignorant of the First Amendment, among other things.

It won't have anything to do with the First.

Government will get churches into compliance by threatening to retro-actively revoke their 501-3(c) status.

Once a couple of multi million dollar mega churches get seized by the IRS, the rest will fold, faster than a Chinese laundry.

Article. IV.
Section. 1.

Full Faith and Credit shall be given in each State to the public Acts, Records, and judicial Proceedings of every other State. And the Congress may by general Laws prescribe the Manner in which such Acts, Records and Proceedings shall be proved, and the Effect thereof.

See?

All legal and "constitutional".

I'd much rather be a clueless Bible idiot who can actually see tyranny, than a wise, modern, progressive statist that is going to bring destruction and ruin to all of my friends and family.

How in the world is recognizing gay marriage going to adversely affect your friends and family? Are you so deluded to think that God will rain destruction and misery a la Sodom and Gomorrah because of today's decision? Good grief, under your ultra-deterministic viewpoint God caused the decision, so what are you complaining about?

They haven't done so with the Catholic Church and orthodox Jewish congregations, both of which practice sexual discrimination, so it's doubtful that discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation will fare any differently.

The next step will be two gays demanding to be married by the minister of the Westboro Baptist Church.

I highly doubt anyone would want to be married by that lunatic. Although honestly that would be kind of funny.

Agree. And then a Christians first amendment right to freely speak and act will being to be trampled on.

You endorse tyranny. Your words prove it.

I wonder if "theye" could whip up a politically correct Vortex of Doom powerful enought to sweep away the Bill of Rights?

I know a bad enough "terror" attack could, no problem.

Marriage ceremonies are religious acts. The government only recently at the state level started with marriage licenses and it was an encroachment on individual liberty that does not need such things, and religion. This is just full blow, the federal government now violating state rights, who were violating individual and religious rights. It's just an endless downward spiral.

And one of the excuses for marriage licenses - we need to take blood tests for your offspring's sake, is now exposed as a sham.

Sorry but that is so ridiculously not true. Government has been in the marriage business for millennia. Anyone who says differently is woefully ignorant of history. But I agree government has no place in a religious ceremony, but to claim it is a recent phenomena is incorrect.

You're right, because we have lived an entire human history of statism and tyranny with only a few glimpses of the tiniest bit of true freedom. But it really blows me away to see the athiest "libertarians" here cheering judicial tyranny like dumb little sheep.

The first amendment has been destroyed by so called libertarians Anthony Kennedy. In a few short years people that hold traditional views on marriage the state will turn them into pariahs.

We all need to pray for America and pray that the homosexuals repent and turn away from their sins.

And I don't think it's been settled yet. The LGBT empire built on hate, lies, and intimidation will eventually collapse.

I'd like to think that this means we won't be hearing about the LGBT movement anymore, but it's just going to kick the culture war into overdrive. This is just the beginning, make no mistake. What's the over-under on when churches are going to be forced to marry gays and insurance is forced to pay for gender reassignment surgery? I say ten years, max.
