Score 60 new voters!!!!! YES! (My speech to Republicans)

My friend has been going around showing Zeitgeist to all his friends and family and wondering why they are not receptive to Ron Paul. =\
Zeitgeist is a not really a film worth showing to promote Paul to conservatives. You might be able to pull Democrats with it but the beginning is pretty off putting to many Christians.

The next time you see this friend you should slap him upside the head.

what we should do is talk about how we hate the entire Republican party and then get mad later when the Republican party and supporters of other candidates think we are dicks....makes a lot of sense /sarcasm.

If you guys want to stake claim as being against the Republican party, then don't cry when they don't go out of their way to give us any airtime or fair treatment at all....get it?

As candidates drop out....those people backing those REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES find other candidates to back....why would they come here to the "we hate Republicans" forum??? seriously? No Republicans are going to come here to join a group that hates Republicans....WTF kind of thinking is this?

Great speech!

More of us need to realize that the average Republican is not some pro CFR, total government trusting warmonger. Most have an underlying strain of some of the ideals of small government.

Their achilles heel may be that they are party faithful. It becomes like supporting a sports team for many.

So to show passion about a re-birth of a Republican party that is stronger and better than ever before will get their juices running. To inspire them that this new movement can give Republicans the strength and confidence to propose and enact the small government policies that have been compromised on for many years.

Explain to them that a new passionate wave of supporters and activists are ready to come into the party. That they have a huge grassroots and Internet support that can alter the courses of debates.

If they feel we are on their side then they will accept some changes and make some compromises for the good of the party.

All of us should strive to develop the Republican party into a party of small government, into a constitutional party. By doing so we will affect mainstream debate and that will drag the Democrats into positions closer to ours.

The country has developed a "government can and should do all" attitude. If a powerful libertarian / constitutional minded grassroots movement like ours was to build up and develop the Republican Party, which must have a strong voice in all media and policy discussion, then it would change the way the people think about government, be they of Democrat or Republican or Independent persuassion.

We really do have a chance to change the nature of ideas in the US and around the world.

I think he meant any Republican is better than Hillary Clinton. :)

Bashing Hillary Clinton is the easiest way to win over Republicans.

I will be voting for Ron Paul no matter what.

I too will be voting for Ron Paul no matter what. Even if I have to write in with a big black marker! :D

Wonderful speech you definitely have talent. As for the bit about any Republican over the a Democrat you said what had to be said, and maybe you believe that. Personally I would never vote for any Democrat(Currently running) or Republican(Currently running) except Ron Paul. You cannot choose the lesser of two evils. I'd just not vote.. sad as that sounds it's the only thing I could do and still be able to have respect for myself.

Haha!! Yes! *Does Dance*

I'm the main Arkansas organizer, and i've been going to Republican meetings and diners across the state... every one I can attend!

Tonight I went to the Boone County Republican meeting with 20 fellow RP supporters for a total of 80 people. After the meeting issues were taken care of, the chairman gave me the floor.

I have a 4 min stump speech on Paul’s positions and on returning dignity and conservatism to the party. I started it off with my “I don’t look conservative I look like I came from Berkeley” Joke… It was ok, not my best speech, but I get no sleep and was tired.

Sadly I had to step out for a min to organize things for a RP meeting Tuesday. When I got back, a RP supporter was up talking about the CFR... (Oh shit!) A concerned older republican asked a very good question, and that was if RP doesn't get the nomination, would we be there to support the Republicans against the Democrats. Two more of our people got up and started heckling the guy about the "globalist elite", completely ignoring the man’s question.

The man was pissed, and his friends and fellow republicans were getting annoyed. Right when the yelling was about to start I stopped raising my hand and just got up and announced over my own guy:

"Ok, I run the local as well as the state grassroots... (loudmouth shuts up) I've put alot of blood, sweet, tears, and money into this campaign. (loudmouth gets asked to leave) I stay up all night working for this man because I love my country too much to see it fall. I'm about as strong of Ron Paul supporter as you can get… but come election day, I know another Democrat will destroy our country. (applaud) …and if I Ron Paul isn't the nominee, I know one thing for certain, ANY Republican is better than Any Democrat, ANY day... (Cheers) (looking at the guy who asked the question) And I will promise you right now that there is no way my vote is going to be cast for anyone but Republican. (More Cheers)

The thing I am most worried about, and what you probably already know is… We are in some serious trouble. The Democrats have the upper hand on us. We got kicked out of power in 2006 for runaway spending, because of ethical breaches, and we lost our confidence as a party to stand up for our ideals of limited government and free enterprise. I’m sure many of you are in favor of staying in Iraq, as are most of the Republican candidates, but we are walking into this election slaughter with 75% of the population against the occupation. What chance does a Pro-war Republican have against Obama or Hillary? If you want to be really serious about keeping a Democrat out of the Whitehouse, vote for a man who won’t polarize the rest of the nation against us, but instead will revitalize the love of true conservatism in this country. The country I love so much… Thankyou, (applaud)”

Every single person who attended that meeting had to double check my name, tell me they loved what I said, and tell me that they would be voting Ron Paul come the 5th… Every one of them… It got even better because two of the people who attended were both running for state senate seats and asked if I could get in touch with them some time.

YES!!!!!!!! Score!!!

Oh and btw... QUIT TALKING ABOUT THE DAMN GLOBAL ELITE AND THE CFR! Republicans dont give a shit!

Bravo, LandonCook! (standing ovation from me to you!!) You did a fabulous job!

What you did is *precisely* what we need to do if we want to win over republicans. I don't care if we have to cross our fingers or ask God for forgiveness for lying, we HAVE to show them we have common ground in a nice sort of way. Otherwise, all of their hearing aids turn off.

I got a couple Fredheads interested in Ron Paul simply by starting the conversation with, "I like a lot of things about Fred but...". That started an honest discussion of ISSUES important to them and both people ended up taking slim jims about Ron Paul.

I too will be voting for Ron Paul no matter what. Even if I have to write in with a big black marker! :D

Yeah well, me too. But if the republicans think we're a one-man show, they really aren't going to listen.

While I'm not suggesting dishonesty, I think this is one of those situations where we have to play the party game to some extent. I had no idea how partisan people operate until I got involved in the party. Most of 'em will vote for an R over a D, even if that R is the devil incarnate. I think Landon played the game just right. You know, he's free to change his mind at some point in the future :p

People like that should be shunned or bitch slapped. These wackos should just stay away from the campaign.

I don't agree. For some, the global incorporation of the US of A is a huge concern. However, to win support, mainstream issues like taxation and jobs should be used to sway their views. There's no reason to scare a 65 year old grandmother with talk about "secret" groups and the like.

OK, fine, but they should address the issue without the frothing batcrap paranoid spew about CFR, blah, blah, blah....otherwise, they should STFU. I'm sick of being associated with a bunch of mental defectives that have absolutely no social skills. Ron Paul will not win with supporters like that.

No kidding... People sound like a bunch of liberals when they bring this up. Neoconized Republicans don't care about global elites and the CFR. This kind of talk sounds rediculous to them.

This is the problem with our movement - too many young people who don't understand the entrenchment of thought that the older folks have and are baffled at how to address them without coming off as complete loons to them.

Its ok to talk about it... just not at a Republican meeting with people who don't have a clue what your talking about...

Whats with people who have bigger mouths than brains...

I can't even hold peaceful meetings because too many of them want their soapbox.. I've had to get real tough with them recently, and im glad the ones in my group are starting to shut up.

No! They are mostly older people that do this... Alot of the young ones i've meet say the same thing, but can't get out 2 words in a group without pissing their pants...
