I hope I'm wrong, but I'm getting this sinking feeling that Schiff is pulling a Jesse Ventura....you know, media appearances....staying front and center with a "potential run"...all the while cashing in on book sales.

I am starting to think he will announce that he's NOT running....why the delay?

It seems to me that he only wants to run if there's a realistic possibility of victory, which is why he hired that research firm a few weeks back. My guess is that his decision will be largely guided by what they report.

So sayeth the anarchists.

I'm fine with the anarcho-capitalists, (I'm personally a minarchist running out of excuses) but I don't see why they aren't more excited about getting real libertarians elected. If they want to abolish the state, certainly giving Peter Schiff a megaphone is a step in the right direction...?

Name one state that abolished itself. Or even effectively shrank itself.

That's why. Not to mention the crass immorality of it.

PM me, and we'll see if we can't smash those excuses of yours to smithereens. ;)

Getting paid with loot a stolen salary would taint who Peter Schiff is, he has made a fortune from the ground up he doesn't need that trash.

Working for the same organization that threw his dad in prison would taint who Peter Schiff is.

Being exposed to the public scrutiny of election is not something a man like Peter Schiff deserves or needs.

Debating the intellectually void, self serving pigs in the senate is not what I would consider a useful role for Peter Schiff.

I think it is best at running his own company, and showing how the free market is superior at every turn.

Don't pull a Lew Rockwell on us. We need as many people like Schiff in office as we can get.

Lew and friends would rather just educate a handful of people each year and allow the crooks to continue stealing from us.

Be your zany voluntaryist self all you want, and I'll respect you for it. But why be on RPF if you don't believe in political action?

Even if I were persuaded over to anarcho-capitalism, I would still vote were a genuine (not bob barr or wayne allen root) libertarian on the ballot.

That's one of my serious disagreements with Lew. I admire all that he has done for liberty, but I don't understand the "don't vote" stuff if a Paul or Schiff are on the ballot.

Does anyone know if he called people to vote for Paul in the last election?

Lew is right when he says we need to educate people. Things won't be better until they are educated. But education is only half the puzzle.
Political action is the other part.
Ron Paul participates in both.
Lew- only in one.

LRC is a daily read for me. At first, it was a bitter pill to swallow (I was an Army ROTC cadet with a full scholarship at the time I first read it) and I reacted by personally attacking Lew. But through prayer, sober thought, and the irresistable human urge to taste the forbidden fruit (or anti-state lrc columns) I came to a truly libertarian position.

I don't always agree with the content or arguments presented by LRC, but I am forever indebted to Lew and his columnists. Without Laurence Vance in particular, I probably would've ended up "serving" in the state military and assisting in the harming of innocents.

If by handful you means thousands... or hundreds of thousands....

um, if it wasn't for RON PAUL's run for president, 99% of the people who know lew and his work now wouldn't know him at all.
It would literally be a handful without the guy who sacrifices all in the political arena.
SO try again.

You are pulling that out of your ass.
