Sarah Palin: "They can spend it better than the government".

She's running on the McCain ticket! What the hell do you expect? LOL! I'm not a single issue voter. However, that doesn't mean I am voting for McCain. I have no intention to.

So you don't mind that Palin is willing to pimp herself out just to further her political ambitions?

No wonder we get the kind of "leaders" we get.

BTW, Palin is NOT "just agreeing with McCain"- she gave the "Mission from GOD" speech about Iraq BEFORE she was picked.

She's just another slick politician- no different than Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama or John McCain or George W. Bush. She'll say or do anything to get elected.

If Palin thought she could get ahead by conducting a human sacrifice, she'd probably do it (as would Clinton, McCain, Bush, etc).

Thats why I like Ron Paul, he's one of a small number of people in politics who aren't like that.

After hearing this women speak like McWar how she would go to war with Russia over Georgia and sound just like the cancer to society that he is Mr. McCain all i can say is that she can burn with McCain in that hell hole....

NEWSFLASH!!! RON PAUL IS OUT OF THE RACE!

Go ahead and vote 3rd party or for Obama or whatever you intend to do. We all know the 3rd party candidates aren't going to win because the current established elite are too entrenched. Voting 3rd will siphon votes away from the other two, pure and simple. One could argue that voting 3rd corrupts the voting process at this juncture in our history.

Therefore voting 3rd is not really voting for a President, is it a protest vote. (I'm down widdat!) That, in and of itself could be a very powerful statement, but it won't change the fact that voting 3rd will not result in a 3rd party President. Face the facts.

As to Sarah Palin, there is a lot of misunderstanding and outright lying going on about her record. Out of all the key players right now: Palin, McCain, Obama, and Biden - her record, her life story, and her philosophy is more to my liking than the others. I don't agree with everything she says or has done, but she has proven that she is open to doing the people's will (re-hiring the librarian). That gives me hope if she enters office. I can't say the same for any of the others. Maybe this is too idealistic of me, but I think we (Ron Paul Revolutionaries) might have a better chance of influencing an administration with her in it, than the others.

Like it or not folks - it's either McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden in the White House. You are deluding yourselves if you believe otherwise.

Deborah do not be afraid to say you are voting for Palin. I am voting for Palin. She is the best chance we have to get a libertarian minded conservative in office. I'm not going to protest vote either..especially since Bob Barr and the LP had the meltdown. Tones

Tones, if you've read my stuff at all you should know I'm not afraid to say anything. ;) :D

I'm just voicing my opinion about Palin.

NEWSFLASH TO YOU!!!

Individual citizens do not determine elections. Electors do. Read the book "Gaming the Vote: Why Elections Aren't Fair (and What We Can Do About It)" to understand this better.

Hence, the importance of the r3volution. Anything important to the citizens has to come from the grassroots and 3rd parties. The partisan republicrats DON'T FUCKING CARE about you! They will continue to run over your rights/liberties until we push back.

R3VOULTION!!!

The what the hell difference does it make to vote 3rd party?????

It's as close to a protest vote that there is. If there is a good showing, then reform will seem plausible. (this is a very long term solution, of course-seeing as there as still many old-guard types who fear losing control) Hey, nobody said it was easy carrying out a r3volution!

Seriously, how can one vote for Palin as president? She's only running as VP, yes? Or are you talking about 'strategic voting', hoping McCain dies in a year?

As Ron Paul says, voting for either of the two establishment candidates is voting for evil.

If the majority of the population wants to vote for evil, let them.. but that doesn't mean you or I or we have to.

Ron Paul has been saying for months that the #1 issue we face right now is foreign policy, because that is where the most money is being wasted. The third party candidates all want to bring the troops home and end corporate welfare. Nader and McKinney, despite their socialist tendencies, would be better than McCain/Palin, because McCain/Palin want to continue our expensive overseas empire.

Ron Paul, the genius that he is, has ranked the issues in order for us to focus on. So why would you want to support a war hawk when that is the #1 issue facing our country??

I understand all of that. But as I posted earlier with regard to voting 3rd party:

"We all know the 3rd party candidates aren't going to win because the current established elite are too entrenched. Voting 3rd will siphon votes away from the other two, pure and simple. One could argue that voting 3rd corrupts the voting process at this juncture in our history. [Electoral votes notwithstanding] - added for heavenlyboy's benefit.

and:

"Like it or not folks - it's either McCain/Palin or Obama/Biden in the White House. You are deluding yourselves if you believe otherwise."

Let's deal with the reality of the situation.

Only thing that worries me is if we all go off and vote third party, we could end up with McCain winning the whitehouse. And that would be extrasuperbad. McCain is a bloodthirsty nut, and he won't leave office without nuking somebody.

It is....if your god is coporate interests.

QFT +1

When you hear them say, "In GOD We Trust," remember--they're talking about "Gold, Oil and Drugs." They're very devout; sacrificing American citizens to they're gods daily...

I swore I would never vote for McCain, but I think Deborah has some good points. I had planned to vote for Barr but I had assumed this would be a strong year for Independent/3rd party candidates. Unfortunately the third party vote has fractured so badly it doesn't look like any candidate will get more than 2-3%. If I'm going to waste my vote I might as well waste in a way that will help defeat BHO. I have complete and utter disdain for that man and it would make me smile to see him lose to almost anyone. On top of that I do kinda like Palin. At this point I will probably make up my mind the day I vote, but if it looks like McCain has a shot at winning WA I may vote for him out just to spite Obama.

That's a good little sheep voter. Just buy into those lesser of two evils like you are supposed to. *pats Chickhawk's head*

(Feeling concerned a little about the validity of Obama's pro-Israel spiel, are you? Can't go wrong with McCain, I assure you. He will protect the Chosen People at all costs! Israel first! America....somewhere back there!!)

I'm not voting 3rd party. RP has become a walking & talking contradiction. First he says he will not run third party because they don't have a chance - now he tells us to vote third party. Sorry I love Dr. Paul, but I am nobodys drone.

He encouraged us to get involved with the GOP and many of us did to help change the party. But now after the press conference; Many of us are marked for obscurity and maginalization inside the party. I feel a bit used.

I understand what he did and why he did it, but it basically hung some of us out to dry.

When Ron Paul said that about third parties was early in this season. Since then we have surprised him. During the C4L he told us that we say he cured our apathy, but we cured his cynicism. Conditions changed and so did his tune. How does that make you a drone?

Sounds like time to scrounge up more allies. Are you so easy to defeat?

I understand what he did and why he did it, but it basically hung some of us out to dry.

No, Dubya hung us out to dry. McCain and/or Obama will hang us out to dry. Ron Paul is just trying to do his part like anyone else in the country with a brain and a conscience.

Then why didn't HE run third party? Because he knows what we all know but what some of us refuse to accept - that a 3rd party vote is a protest vote - ONLY! It will NOT garner a third party president because the current elitist establishment is too entrenched and would never let it happen.

Heavenlyboy made a good point about the electoral college. Since it is the electoral college that elects the president - let's discuss how our 3rd vote will affect that. Anyone???
