We've gotten word just a bit ago that tonight's debate WILL be televised after all, on C-SPAN, starting at 7 p.m. I hope you can make it a point to watch.
My opponent has done a great job of hiding her real views from scrutiny in an effort to be all things to all people, and my hope is that tonight we’ll get to the heart of the matter of what she really represents – yet another vote for Nancy Pelosi and the destructive policies that have put spending on a completely unsustainable pace.
Though she's done a good job hiding from debates and forums, here's what we do know:
Last week, Colbert Busch’s campaign refused to answer basic questions about whether she would vote in favor of returning Pelosi to the Speakership, whether she would vote in favor of government stimulus spending and what budgetary and spending reforms she would enact.
Yesterday, it was revealed that Colbert Busch received $420,000 via the liberal money funneling organization ActBlue, whose biggest recipients in the past year included Elizabeth Warren, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, and the CREDO Super PAC.
It’s been widely reported that a nearly $1 million barrage of false and misleading anti-Sanford ads have been funded by Nancy Pelosi allies seeking to put her back in the Speaker’s chair. It’s clear they expect Colbert Busch to be a reliable vote for liberal policies like Obamacare, stimulus, and wasteful spending.
Colbert Busch received over $70,000 from union interests, including the same union that sought to end Boeing’s presence in South Carolina – and she is on tape promising to be labor unions' “voice” in Congress.
We would've liked to have had many more debates and forums, to really get a full airing of the issues in this race, but we're hopeful tonight will provide a very clear contrast of what we would represent in Congress versus my opponent.
Take care, and be sure and tune in tonight.
Sincerely,
Mark
