I don't think the US did this one. It doesn't make any sense that we would.
Why kill a minor political appointee? Nothing is gained, no message is sent. This guy was a nobody.
. . . killed a Russian in retaliation for what the Russians are doing in Syria.
He was identified by Turkey’s interior minister as Mevlut Mert Altintas, from the western province of Aydin and a graduate of a police college in Izmir. Local news reports said that Mr. Altintas’s mother and sister had been arrested and that a computer had been confiscated from their house.
The gunman, described by Turkish officials as a 22-year-old off-duty police officer, also wounded at least three others in the assault on the envoy, Andrey G. Karlov, which was captured on video. Turkish officials said the assailant was killed by other officers in a shootout.
The head of one of the departments of Russian foreign ministry was found dead, with gunshot wounds in Moscow on Monday, according to a REN TV report. This information was not officially confirmed by the department.
The victim is claimed to be Peter Polshikov, head of the Latin American department of the Russian foreign ministry. His body was found with a gunshot wound to the head in an apartment in Moscow. Two shells were found near the body, while the gun was found under the kitchen sink.
Polshikov's wife was reported to be in the apartment. REN TV said that two versions of the incident were being considered: suicide and murder.
Mert Altintas, eh? Yeah that's confirmed fakery. Altintas is an anagram for Atlantis. Mer is Sea. Too complicated to quickly explain why that's important but trust me, it's intentional and a huge sign of false flag/fakery. The name is code. The Sea People of Atlantis.

Altıntaş is a town and a district of Kütahya Province in the Aegean region of Turkey.
Altıntaş was previously known as "Kurtköy".[3] The district's name means "golden stone" in Turkish and was given due to the large stone deposits, especially marble deposits in the area.[4]
Chalcolithic artifacts have been found in the Altıntaş area. The Roman city of Soa is located within the district boundaries. The marble in the area was mined in antiquity, having been used in the construction of the ancient city of Aizanoi nearby. Near today's Pınarcık village, a Roman city called "Abya" produced its own coins. In the Osmaniye village, a mausoleum from the 2nd or 3rd century AD was excavated.[3][5] In the district center of Altıntaş, a tomb called the Seydisül Tomb, built in the late 19th or early 20th century, contains an arch from the Byzantine era, depicting Deesis.[6]
During the reign of the Ottoman sultan Bayezid II, a rebellion was suppressed at a battle in Altıntaş.[3]
Early in the Greco-Turkish War during the Turkish War of Independence, the area was occupied by the Greek forces. Parts of the Battle of Dumlupınar took place within the district boundaries; these areas were later declared a national park. Altıntaş became a district in 1947.[3]

The company tracks year-over-year growth and spikes in lookups of words on its website to come up with the top choice. This time around, there were many periods of interest in "surreal" throughout the year, often in the aftermath of tragedy, Sokolowski said.
Major spikes came after the Brussels attack in March and again in July, after the Bastille Day massacre in Nice and the attempted coup in Turkey. All three received huge attention around the globe and had many in the media reaching for "surreal" to describe both the physical scenes and the "mental landscapes," Sokolowski said.
The single biggest spike in lookups came in November, he said, specifically Nov. 9, the day Donald Trump went from candidate to president-elect.
There were also smaller spikes, including after the death of Prince in April at age 57 and after the June shootings at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
