Russia: Terrorist attack kills 31 at Moscow's busiest airport

Yeah I can speak Russian, I have my GF's family out here. I come here off and on when I can with GF. I use Yota, its a 3g like device plugs into the computer USB slot. Lot of people use it. Not the fastest but it works. And it's not too cold right now, still snowing but I would bet like 29-30 degrees right now. Was a lot colder earlier this week. That place that got bombed....I have gone through it like 20 times or so. It's scary to see that happen right where you have been.

Вы говорит по-русский? Хорошо! Молодец! Мы может написемся друг-друга на русском языком. :)

Well, I think most everyone knows. Domo is the biggest newest Airport. And its on all the channels, and here in Russia they dont spare the gore. I ride right through where the metro bombs went off last year, no one says anything. Metro is quiet anyways, people are packed in like cattle and no one wants to be there. I think after the school bombing, the train bombing the metro bombings...and so forth people are just kinda...scary to say...used to it.

I am not hanging out at the bars or anything, so not going to be the very best source of info, and I am not going to ask a Russian how he feels about the bombing while at a restaurant....they get really crazy here. Lots of racism, especially towards anyone with ANY kind of dark skin.

Some truth to that, though not all Russians are like that. As far as the Chechens go though, my friend Velych once explained it to me thusly in one of our email exchanges:

"I don’t know how to explain. The matter is that we have a great problem with chechens. They are formally the part of our country but really they are on their own. They are not people, they are actually wild beasts. No more. None of them walks alone but always in groups. They are absolutely uneducated people and low-life of civilization. Only imagine. They are taught from childhood that work is a destiny of loosers. “If you are a Man you mustn’t work. Work is a shame for you. You must be a gagster. You are a son of mountains and you have to skim and strong-arm everybody who works. Work is weakness”. If you wear gun or knife you are a respectable person for them. They rape women, kill man and cry about human rights. They control only (prostitution, drug traffic plus weapons) no IT and no highly skilled crimes. They corrupt policemen and work with them. But now they enter FSB academy our analogue of FBI(domestic events and incredible crimes).

Interracial difficulties are the difficulty of any multinational country America, Russia. We have interracial difficulties but Chechens are too much.

It’s ridiculous to hear about them for example in London crying about loyalty, crimes and justice.

One of their idioms is "Орлы над нами, козлы под нами". Eagles are above us goats are below us. Goat(Козёл) is a very strong curse in Russian and has a very-very negarive meaning smth. like slang "prick or faggot" in English. These days we have collisions in Moscow. We are focused on these events. One of Russian Spartak Moscow football club fan was killed by 7 of caucasians. The man who used a gun had no licence. They were immediately taken to jail, their supporters from expat community came and bribed the policemen and took them out of the police station. The wife of a killed guy used a mobile phone and called to FSB. Some of caucasians were captured later but some managed to leave the county. Groups or citizens take part in strikes and turn down motorways in Moscow. There were two massive collisions between caucasians and Russians. Tons of policemen tried to prevent rage explosions but some peope were killed. You can watch it in Youtube or in newssites. Smth like these (Fight on Maneshnay square "Драка на Манежной площади" or "Фанаты перекрыли Ленингадку", "Драка с кавказцами около Европейского")

Finally, I don't believe in their innocence. Don't believe in every a word.

p.s. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not a nationalist at all. I don’t care of colour and origin of people but they are savages.

Sorry, the letter is coarse but the theme is very alive."

Just reinforces the notion that peaceful separation must be pursued here.

You force a bunch of people together who, for right or wrong, are enemies at sight, at the barrel of a government gun, you will never have a peaceful society.

I can't think of a better way to convince/force a new customer to buy naked body scanners. I don't think that it would be difficult for the dirty tricks squad to arrange an attack to be blamed on any group that they please.

Chechen terrorists have a long history in Russia. It's sick what they do, but it's a classic case of blow back. The Russians just need to let that part of the nation go and let them do whatever they want, stop trying to rule them. What's just as sickening is how much the Russian government has turned the terrorist attacks of the past 10 years in Russia to pretty much recreating the tyranny of the Soviet Union.

Edit: I take what I said back earlier about it not being an inside job. I really wouldn't put it past Russia or the FSB. There is clear evidence they were behind numerous apartment bombings and the Russian ineptitude and censoring caused hundreds more to die in hostage instances.

Republic Details

The Republic of Chechnya is located on the north slope of the Caucasus Mountains within 100 kilometers of the Caspian Sea.

It's strategically vital to the Russian Federation for two reasons. First, access routes to both the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea go from the center of the federation through Chechnya. Second, vital Russian oil and gas pipeline connections with Kazakstan and Azerbaijan also run through Chechnya.

The declaration of full independence issued in 1993 by the Chechen government of Dzhokar Dudayev led to civil war in that republic, and several Russian-backed attempts to overthrow Dudayev failed in 1993 and 1994.

Russina neo-nazi's stage this stuff too hoping it will be blamed on the Chechen peole in hopes of starting a race war.

Interesting that this happened in the arrival area, a section where people also group up to collect their luggage at regular intervals and that airport security pays basically no attention to.

As an alternate hypothesis, it could have been a piece of checked luggage that failed to detonate in flight, but being bumped around at the carousel pickup got it to go off.

I was really expecting this to have happened at the bottleneck of people packed together waiting to go through airport security, considering the high body count.

Exactly. Violence rarely solves anything. It simply emboldens those who are attacked. The government of the receiving end gets the opportunity to use propaganda to draw its' populace closer and further away from the attackers; which greatly reduces the chance of actual change occuring.

Yes , for the Russians it is all about access .

Let's see. The bombing took place in the baggage claim area. Nobody (in America at least) has to go through any screening to get into the baggage claim area. But watch the MSM ignore this and allow crooked politicians to use this as yet another excuse for the naked body scanners.

I've been discussing the fact that airports lack security in many crowded areas for many, many years. At some point, they will either have to keep trying to make us "safe" by installing checkpoints further and further from the gates, or they will have to admit that "security" is an illusion in any public place.

Of course, there's always option three, which is what I've seen on MSM reports about this. "Oh there are a lot of security measures at US airports that you do and don't see! Like dogs, and cameras, and stuff! This would NEVER happen here!"

No, if it were here, it would happen at the TSA checkpoint during the busiest time of the busiest day, probably during a weather delay (easy to see which airports are infamous for those) so as to catch a lot of bonus casualties from people sitting around the airport. You could blow up various bombs, including some in the baggage claim, and make the airport structurally unsound in some parts quite easily. You could also get a bit fancy, and instead go with a pandemic that incubates in all those travelers. You wouldn't even have to go through security.

It's an international airport...which means you have to claim your baggage before passing through Customs...just like Customs, the baggage claim is a secured area....the bombing happened in the unsecured area where people are waiting for travelers to come out, not the baggage claim area.

It'll be politics as usual in Russia. This isn't a uncommon event. Muslim terrorists are quite common in Russia as Russia is quite brutal in its treatment of the breakway countries and to muslims in general. This is not going to stop and will only continue longer. Just a classic case of blowback. The Russians know this already, they don't have to hide behind the "they hate us because we're free", Russian and free are oxymorons.

QFT. They also have long had problems with Chechens, so they have experience dealing with sociopaths and terrorists and such. As far as "Russian and free are oxymorons", I don't know any native Russians who think about modern Russia that way (and I know quite a few). Nowadays, we're not much more "free" than they are, AFAIK. I've been told by a few people that it's easier to bribe cops so they'll look the other way over there too.(just second hand info, FWIW)

Srsly? I've never been through that at Sky harbor international. (but I haven't been there in the post-9/11 era)

That will never happen though. Territorial unity and strong state is defacto national religion(not Christianity or Islam or communism). People here will preserve it at all costs. And many Caucasians(ethnic groups not race) are converting to this religion now. Relatively weak slavic males will be replaced with more masculine and aggresive Chechens, Dagestanians, etc. Russia will never break up.
