Russert is very tough, but fair. You saw the way he ripped into the other 'frontrunners,' he's not going to sit around and get all misty-eyed like Glenn Beck. Beck's interview was softer than Larry freaking King, he wanted in the Dr.'s pants
bad, or he just wanted the ratings he knew he'd get (hell maybe he wanted the death threats to stop...

). Russert probably knows little about Ron Paul. He is a very experienced interviewer and hundreds of politicians cross his path every year. I think he will find many things to like about Ron Paul, and I think he will give him a rousing interview. This isn't just good, this is
great. Throw all the fast balls, curve balls, knuckle balls, cannon balls, I don't care. RP is going to be rested and ready, he has no dirt, he has no skeletons, the man is as flawless a politician as they come. There will be no flip-flops or 'gotchas!' like Mittens and McCain got, because Dr. Paul doesn't flip flop. Period. Russert is going to see this and go yeowza, pretty neat. Then he's going to go after Paul on the issues, and Paul is going to have his say, and anybody with half a brain tuning in is going to go "Gee you know, he wasn't sputtering and being infantile like the other guys. Maybe I should listen to what he has to say."
The wonderful thing about Dr. Paul is that you're not worried about scandal. You're not worried about slip-ups. He has been saying the same thing for over 20 years...it's not like he hasn't thought it out a thousand times. He can give Hannity and BillO a warm smile with a twinkle in his eye, and then politely de-construct everything they say. He knows when to be soft-spoken, and when to raise hell. The only thing that damages him is when a journalist is using slander and distortion to discredit his comments. Russert, in my experience at least, is not the sort of journalist to do that. We will see, but I think that this interview is money in the bank for Dr. Paul. I think his campaign knows that, and I guess even Rush knows it. Sucks for Huck, but then again I guess he'd rather cuddle with Chuck and his blankie rather than show his lying face to Tim Russert.
