RPF favorite Gatewood Galbraith is running

BamaFan really liked this guy for a while, then was kind of turned off. Not sure why.

It's stuff like this that reminds me why I do like Gatewood:
Galbraith was pushing a less government, less taxes approach long before the Tea Party movement caught fire. Asked about his ties to that movement he recounted a recent encounter where a Tea Party supporter welcomed him to a rally. "Thank you all for joining me, well where the hell you been the last 30 years?” Galbraith says he told the Tea Party member. “ I said I'm the one that's had to take a yellow sign and go out and play in traffic to get your all's attention that this is what they've been doing to you."

Moffett is a better liberty candidate. However if he does not survive the primary because of Richie I will be supporting Gatewood.

Gatewood is an awesome speaker and a very interesting guy to talk to. He used to come to my High School and speak. (He has been running for office forever) He got 14% one year in the governors race. I have been to a few of his organizational meetings. In one of them he made the boldest statement I have ever heard a politician say in person.

He said "If elected governor, on the first day I will ground all military helicopters. We are not at war with Eastern Kentucky and therefore we should not be flying sorties over our own people."

Why is Moffett better? Moffett wants to keep the drug war, not allow gambling, etc. Basically he's Moral Majority type who likes hemp farming. I've not seen any difference in him and Stan Lee.

The Gambling issue is a bad one to pick. Why should Kentucky allow gambling? Remember if Gambling is passed it is not going to be an Open Market. The state will collude with a cartel of companies and monied few to operate probably something low brow like VLTs. We will not get classy Vegas Style Casinos in places like Turfway or Keeneland. Gambling is not about saving horses, it is a money grab. Why should we reward Frankfort with the inevitable revenue that the state will get from their cut? So they can create even more programs that will ever expand and then eventually need more revenue streams to support their bloat? If the state was serious about saving horses they could cut the tax on paramutual wagers. Purses would then increase. But you will never hear anyone offer that solution.

Drug war, well we all know this is Gatewoods strong suit. However remember Gatewood is still an old style democrat when it comes to many forms of government spending. For every moral issue you might bring up for Moffett I can give you 2 issues of government largess that Gatewood has supported over the years. Don't forget Gatewoods prime education platform of shaking the money tree to the tune of I believe 5K every year for every student in kentucky who can string a sentence together on the KERA portfolio.

BAMA, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gatewood. Heck I was eating hemp crust pizza and talking to him about this Governors race almost 1 year ago from this day. Moffett has my vote right now and if he can somehow overcome the mountain known as Richie's mustache then I will most likely support him in the General. Neither are perfect candidates. I will not fault someone for supporting Gatewood. He is currently my 1B. However Moffett is a candidate that any Liberty Lover can legitimately support.

Gatewood does not have the free market chops that Moffett has. This state needs more Pro Free Market leaders.

I have my stack of Bumper Stickers as backup just in case Moffett cannot overcome 25% of the unforgettables.

Sorry dude, that's not the position I put to Moffett. I said get out of the way of the Casinos and let them be run like they are all over. He opposes. Same as every backward ass politician in state government.

My biggest problem with Moffett is a Faux pro-hemp stance. He's only for it because of jobs. Not for medical MJ or even straight legalization. Many in his camp look like they heard a dog whistle when I remind them we spent 1.23 billion last decade in Kentucky with non-violent drug offenders being sent to prison. No one who serious about the debt can no look at the 'Prison Industrial Complex.'

Still, Gatewood has insane people in his campaign and he's a little to "send every kid to college with book money" for me as well.

I was speaking of my own position. Gambling is a bad issue IMO for Kentucky. Damned either way.

'Prison Industrial Complex.'
A reason to like Gatewood, he is the only candidate who will speak of the P.I.C.

Still, Gatewood has insane people in his campaign

I say this with all due respect, We are Ron Paul / Rand Paul Fans. Go to any Paul rally or get together and Look to the Left, Then Look to the Right, If you don't see someone strange then hold up a mirror. If you get 3 of us in a room chances are one of us could be described as "eccentric"
