For those of you in NC, here is the information:

I'm planning to go:)

Two Chances To See RON PAUL In North Carolina

… THE MOVEMENT HAS JUST BEGUN! …

Dr. Ron Paul Is coming to North Carolina this Friday May 2, 2008 for two public events. He will be speaking first at UNC-Chapel Hill in the afternoon, from 3:30-5:00 PM. Later, he will speak in the early evening at Duke University in Durham, from 6:30-8:30 PM.

Dr. Paul’s campaign effort is not just about the Presidency.
Supporters understand that he has helped spark a movement to restore the Republic to a true Constitutional basis. Thus, at each venue Dr.
Paul will be conducting a book signing of his most recent book, The
Revolution: A Manifesto.

The 3:30 PM event will be at UNC-Chapel Hill’s Carrol Hall, which seats about 500 people. Parking is very limited, so come early. The UNC event is free; however, ticket reservations need to be placed at:

For driving directions, a map of the UNC-CH campus and parking areas,

The 6:30 PM event will be held at Duke’s Reynolds Theater (in the Bryan Student Center), which accommodates about 600 people. Parking is easy, as there is a parking deck adjacent to the student center and theater. This promises to be a very special event, because Dr. Paul is a graduate of the Duke Medical School.

Tickets for the Duke event can be picked up for free from the Reynolds Theater box office in the Bryan Student Center. Reserving online will guarantee a seat for those unable to pick up tickets in person beforehand. Online reserved tickets cost $3 dollars since the university box office charges for processing electronic ticketing. No portion of this money goes to Dr. Paul.

See the following weblink for Duke Reynolds theater ticket reservations, and click the icon that reads “All Events” to see the listing for Dr. Paul’s talk. This webpage also has a link to a campus map, at the top right hand corner. Look for the Bryan Center building because Reynolds Theater is inside the Bryan Student Center.

This website will give you traveling directions to the Duke venue:

Please note that these events occur during finals week at both UNC-CH and Duke, and officials at both campuses have asked that we respect their need for quiet and order during this time. We are working to arrange a location (likely between UNC-CH and Duke) for public displays of affection for Dr. Paul and his message of hope. Details will be forthcoming as available.

Don’t miss this chance to hear Dr. Paul in person … Hope to see you all there!

My fiancee and I will definitely be at the UNC event, RSVPed the first day, is way overbooked now. Something like 1000 RSVPs for 500 slots. They are trying to change the venue to something more accommodating. The Duke event still has some spots and are in need of some ushers to help out.

I can't wait to finally meet him!! Thought it interesting that not only is he coming to UNC (my graduate school) and Duke (where I work) on my birthday, he also shares a birthday with my fiancee. Neat - she says she'll never celebrate her own birthday again:D
