@mods, I read the forum guidelines and I'm almost sure I am okay posting this. If not, feel free to move or delete as needed. I'm a private party, non-business, aiming to cover my costs.

Back by popular demand, I've redesigned the cards and revamped RonPaulCards.com itself for Ron Paul's 2012 campaign. During the 2008 campaign, we sold just over 160,000 of the cards, and we'd love to double that this year. The more you guys order, the better deal I can get from my vendor.

For the uninitiated, Ron Paul Cards are simply business card-sized fact sheets about Dr. Paul. They are printed on super high quality 14pt cardstock, UV coated, and very nice to touch (ok, maybe thats just me). Buying in quantity, these cards can cost as little as 2 CENTS EACH, making them a very economical way to spread the word.

I'm both humbled and excited by the HUNDREDS of emails I received from people asking if I would bring the site back. Admittedly, I had lost a bit of the enthusiasm I had back in 2007 & 2008, but your emails have rekindled my drive for this cause. You guys ROCK!

In any case, the site is up and ready to take orders. All cards ship for free (as always), though we also offer expedited shipping this year (order from this page for the expedited shipping). Last campaign season, we had several event organizers request cards at the last minute and we weren't really prepared. This time around we should be ready for you!

Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have and I'll be more than happy to answer them!

Thanks for the response. I'm just always weary of posting this kind of thing...kinda feel like a whore.

In any case, I most definitely will NOT be making a ton of cash on this venture, but I will be reinvesting any money I make back into this and other RP promotions!

like a whore LOL

come on now, it isn't like you are peddlin mittens or bachmann warez or something.

Good luck and heres to your success! and inturn I would assume our success as well!

You really ought to have Ron Paul Flix listed on the cards. There is no better way for a person to learn about Dr Paul.

Is that the actual size?

They look good. I would have capitalized Constitution, but I'm old fashioned.

I'm pretty sure I ordered some of those last time. They fit nicely on cars.

And a post or two of this kind is fine. Perpetually bumping your own post and mega multiple threads, not so much. There is a forum specifically for this, but when you are introducing a new product, I for one appreciate seeing it in the larger forum at least until people are aware it exists.

Thanks for the info. I'm just trying to get critical mass at this point but I won't spam the forum, scouts honor!

I wouldn't call it actual size, they are regular business card size at 2" tall by 3.5" wide. My favorite place to put them is on the driver's side rear-view mirror if there's a way to make it stick. That way they don't have to get out of their car to take it off.

Got your PM saying the same. I'll try to work that link in when I order the next batch.

Good stuff. Not sure what the purpose of LinkedIn is?? LinkedIn is SPAM hell. Once you're in, no way to get out. Many scary stories online about them. I get so many LI requests, and even though I refuse to join their network, you can not even demand they stop sending you invites. Not impressed.

That's a good point. I was torn on whether or not to include it but since they linked to it from the official campaign site I thought it had to have some value. Maybe I'll swap it out next round for your site.

That would be just wonderful. We, all 6 of us, work hard to ensure we reach out to Republican voters, not the grassroots, hence all our videos are professional stuff that no one will ever be embarrassed to have someone watching. We disappoint people because we won't post their latest meee-tooo RP video, but we want to keep a good signal/noise ratio.

I'm going to level with you: these didn't turn out that well. I bought a ton of these in 2007-08, and I couldn't wait for the new ones.

But, now that I've seen them, I won't be ordering any; I'd be embarrassed to hand these out. Maybe I don't know what I'm taking about, especially since you say you've sold 15,000 of them. But, if you're interested, here are my problems:

1. STOP FLIPPING HIS PICTURE!!! What are people thinking when they do this?! His lapel pin and hair part are on the wrong side, and his face is distorted.

Leaving that aside, let's assume we're handing these out to people who know little or nothing about Ron, or what they think they know is disinformation.

2. "Dr. Paul is leading the movement towards a peaceful, constitutionally-limited government. Dr. Paul has proven himself a man of integrity. During his 11 terms in congress, Dr. Paul has voted according to the constitution without exception. He is an air force veteran and former physician."

These are just a bunch of vague platitudes. Every politician claims to have integrity, and everyone in congress thinks he or she votes according to the constitution without exception. I know what you mean, but that doesn't mean it's obvious to someone unfamiliar with Ron.

Also, Ron isn't a former physician; he still has his medical knowledge, and I'm sure he still has his medical license.

You'd have to pull the video for the exact quote, but in his recent video titled "Iowans, This is Your Chance," Tom Woods said, to the best of his knowledge, there has never once been a congressman with a voting record like Ron Paul's in all of American history.

So, while I didn't count the number of characters you can fit, how about something like:

"Ron Paul has never once, in 11 terms in Congress, voted to exceed the specific, enumerated powers given to the federal government in the constitution. Other politicians talk about things like the constitution or integrity; Dr. Paul's long record proves that he lives it. That's why Tom Woods, who holds three degrees in U.S. history from Harvard and Columbia Universities, says that Dr. Paul's voting record is unparalleled in all of U.S. history."

"Ron is a former practicing physician who began his medical career as a flight surgeon with the U.S. Air Force."

"He and his wife, Carol, have been married for XX years. They have five children, XX grandchildren and XX great-grandchildren."

3. "When he's elected president, Ron Paul promises to:"

"Significantly reduce the bloated federal budget."

Again, this is a vague platitude; all politicians talk like this, about eliminating "bloat" or "waste." You need hard numbers; find out exactly what he has said, like "cut the federal budget by 25% by the end of his first term."

"Eliminate the IRS and Federal Reserve."

This is fine, except you need to add a qualifier like "pressure Congress." The president can't do either of these things by himself, and Ron is strongly opposed to the executive having the power to unilaterally make such decisions.

"Abolish the income, death and capital gains taxes, as well as eliminating taxes on tips."

He can't do this by himself either. Also, I understand making a point of appealing to people who make tips, but taxes on tips are income taxes, so this is redundant.

I might combine all three of these points into something like:

"Strongly pressure Congress to abolish the Federal Reserve and restore sound money that holds its value"

"Also strongly pressure them to repeal the federal income, death and capital gains taxes, replacing them with nothing and cutting the federal budget proportionally, along with abolishing the IRS and replacing it with nothing."

4. "Withdraw from Iraq and focus on domestic security."

He wants to do more than that, and "focus on domestic security" sounds like he's pro-atrocities like the Patriot Act and the TSA.

How about something like, "As commander-in-chief, immediately bring all U.S. troops home from all of the 100+ countries they've occupied for decades; close all U.S. bases on foreign soil; pressure Congress to abolish all foreign 'aid;' and replace military intervention with setting an example of peace, friendship and private commerce with the world."

"Fully restore the civil liberties of all Americans, including pressuring Congress to repeal the Patriot Act and abolish the TSA."

5. "Never outstrip his executive powers."

Again, too vague; all presidents believe they adhere to this standard. I would at least add something like "strictly enumerated" to "executive powers." But, if Ron has said something more specific, like promising to veto any bills that exceed the federal government's enumerated powers or something, that'd be even better.

I'm going to level with you: I don't see how you could've done a worse job on these cards if you had tried. I bought a ton of these in 2007-08, and I couldn't wait for the new ones....

I guess I should start by thanking you for being so passionate about the cards. Here's the problem though...I can't please everyone.

I get suggestions literally every day about how I could have done a better job with these cards, but I have to take a middle road on them. I think you might be assuming that every person that gets these cards reads EVERY line of them too...I really doubt it. My goal with these cards really is more to make him seem like a nice, smart older gentleman, and to build curiosity and interest in him. Remember that many elections are won on sheer name-recognition, not on policies. While nobody is going to make their decision based on these cards, some might start investigating further.

1. This is a non-issue...nobody is going to notice/care that his picture is flipped. People that get these cards have probably never heard of or seen him before, and won't be picking apart his photo.

2. Good suggestions, though mentioning "Tom Woods" means nothing at all to the average person. I could be more specific on his record and the fact that it is unmatched in the history of our country.

3. Nobody cares about the semantics of how he'll accomplish these things, they just need to know what his goals are. "Strongly pressuring" congress sounds like he's manipulative, so people like us care about how he does it, but average voters couldn't care less.

4. Your suggestion here would be an empty promise, because there's really no chance in hell that he could withdraw our troops from EVERY country we are occupying. I like what you're saying, but its not humanly possible and thus doesn't belong on the cards.

5. "strictly enumerated". Using a word like "enumerated" on this card would immediately alienate most average people. I bet 1 in 5 people walking down the street could actually give you a definition for that word. However, your suggestion about vetoing any bills that exceed the federal governments powers is smart.

Again, thanks for taking the time to send these suggestions. Don't get so stuck in the details though, remember that the purpose of these cards is to build curiosity and interest, not to convince someone to vote for Ron Paul from reading the card alone.
