Ron "Trumps" the Huckster, again! (will skip Huckabee Forum)

I think it's a snub. FOX goes out of its way to try to ruin Paul when he is actively running for the Republican nom.

I think Paul realizes that his being on Fox does more for their ratings then it does help his.

RP at the end of the day is a well studied and well meaning intellectual, Physician and Statesman. FOX is entertainment garbage and they treat him like dirt.

If he has had enough of it from them, I fully understand.

+ rep my thoughts exactly.

Ron Paul owes Fox and Huckabee NOTHING.

Sure he may lose, but at least he'll lose with his dignity intact.

Fox is trash.

Just as an update: There is nothing on the campaign site that suggests that Paul is "addressing a big caucus site before voting". He has two events today, but there are no events scheduled for tomorrow on the official calendar.

I also want to address a point that was made several pages back that Huckabee planned this event to interfere with the WA Caucuses. I think this is a huge stretch. Huck's show is broadcast on Saturdays, and since this is the Saturday before Super Tuesday I don't think there was some plot to interfere with the WA Caucuses. Tomorrow is simply the best date for him to schedule this forum prior to Super Tuesday.

That was me, and I take your point.

HOWEVER, that segues to another in a string of combative questions posed-to-be-posed to pressure Huckabee/Fox to let Ron Paul participate by satellite: DOES MIKE HUCKABEE THINK HE IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN RANK & FILE WASHINGTONIANS? Does he care more about his own RATINGS than about beleaguered Citizens in states rendered INCONSEQUENTIAL by the notorious Broken System?

The decision is MADE, for Ron Paul to be in Washington State rather than on Huckabee's Forum. HOWEVER, if Huckabee/Fox would REVERSE THEMSELVES (every once in awhile, it HAPPENS), it would be WIN-WIN-WIN...Ron Paul's personal exposure in the PICK ME! PICK ME! spectacle being, frankly, the LEAST of the victory. It would ABSOLUTELY provide better/richer/deeper debate for CONFUSED-AND-GETTING-PISSED Voters. It would constitute CAUSE prevailing over CORPORATION.

Just 'cuz Ron Paul is too NICE for his or OUR own good doesn't mean CONTINGENTS of Supporters cannot materialize as forces with which to be reckoned. People CAN be and frequently ARE persuaded to "like" people/things/places they really would never have thought to select, and maybe would REJECT given the freedom to do so. Madison Avenue does it with INUNDATION and SLICK INSINCERITY. Financiers and Service Providers do it with TERMS OF ACCEPTANCE. Bullies do it with INTIMIDATION &/or FORCE.

Parents, Police, Pastors and Principals ALSO do it with INTIMIDATION &/or FORCE.

Perhaps the Evangelical wing of Ron Paul Supporters is reluctant to go for Mike Huckabee's jugular? I dunno. But I DO know that, within the (I believe wrong) decision to PLAY THE GAME, The Moovement ain't playin' hardball.

Bullies are not reasoned, pleaded, loved, NICED, hoped, nagged, needled, wheedled, whined or WAITED outta being Bullies.

A simple rule of politics is that you go to where the people are. If people are watching, and your competition is having an opportunity to present their case to those watching, then by being absent from the event you lose out on the opportunity to convince those voters that you are the best candidate for the job and you deserve their vote. Every undecided voter that is watching that program will not have the opportunity to learn what Paul's positions are on the issues that concern them the most.

Honestly, we need to see what exactly Paul's commitments are tomorrow. As I said there is nothing on the schedule as as of 11:30 EST today there is nothing on the schedule. If this event was skipped and Paul's only appearance tomorrow is at a post-caucus rally, giving the same stump speech he has given over and over, then was that really worth missing out on the opportunity to be in front of 1000's of people along side the other candidates?

If FOX forums were the ONLY source for people to get to know Paul through, he would be polling at maybe 1%. Looks at the " How did you discover Paul?" post. FOX anything seems to have played an insignificant roll at attracting support and votes for Paul.

Everything that everyone has been doing to reach people personally, through other forms of media and getting involved intheir local political parties , is what has been growing his support and voter base over the years.

I really do want to understand, why it is some of you here, think that after the near hundreds appearances of RP on FOX over the years, that this one appearance is going to magically bring him the win?

What is so different about this one, vs any other FOX appearance that is going to dramatically and all of a sudden change things?

Get a grip and get some perspective.

Is it just that some of you were converted neocons that seriously follow FOX as being a real news source and so this is the medium you relate to for beleiving it is how Paul will get noticed and supported?

If I wanted to support a neocon, FOX ass kisser, I certainly would not be supporting Paul. It is not who he is. It's not who he will ever become.

If it's so true that so many people decide in the last 24 hrs, then calling people at home in the Super Tuesday states is what you all need to get busy with instead of crying here that Paul is for a second time in a row now, avoiding Huckabees forum.

I admire and respect Paul to much to want to push or guilt trip him into anything he is clearly not comfortable with or interested in, no matter how much I have vested in his campaigns. He's already done so much for helping those of us who gave up long ago, to have a hope again, that if WE ban together and help share and spread the message, we can eventually wake enough people up to turn things around, no matter how much worse they may have to get until then.

It's about giving millions of viewers (who are NOT political junkies) the perception that Ron Paul is NOT one of the guys still standing.

Get a grip and get some perspective.

That's IRONIC, on this board.

Is it just that some of you were converted neocons that seriously follow FOX as being a real news source and so this is the medium you relate to for beleiving it is how Paul will get noticed and supported?

More like, some ACCEPT UNPLEASANT REALITIES. An unpleasant reality is that, HOWEVER DEBATABLE ITS PRODUCT OR SHITTY ITS SERVICE, Fox has a BIG audience. Like Bank of America.

I admire and respect Paul to much to want to push or guilt trip him into anything he is clearly not comfortable with or interested in...

If Ron Paul is too admirable to be pushed into anything with which he is UNCOMFORTABLE, for sure for sure, he ought not be President.

here here! old chap!

Maybe that is your perception. They announce that Paul was invited and is campaigning whereelse instead. There has been zero news yet that Paul has dropped out.

lol

I am still waiting to hear someone address exactly how has FOX converted people into voting for Paul over the years. So far, my experiential evidence points to FOX costing Paul potential supporters. Please someone dig up stats that show FOX converts people to Paul and is helping him to win.

If you can't, the fact that they have millions of viewers means NOTHING. There are many many many millions more that do not watch Hucks forum who have not already been brainwashed against Paul, we have a better chance with.

If Ron Paul is too admirable to be pushed into anything with which he is UNCOMFORTABLE, for sure for sure, he ought not be President.

Did you seriously just say that? lol

Who wants a Presidential leader and Commander in Chief who is easily pushed around?

Not me. Anyone easily pushed around by cry babies does not make for a fit leader or commander of a large military in my book.

Sounds to me like you secretly support the likes of Romney. He fits your profile- FOX suck up, Beauty contest whore, flip flopping pushover that goes wherever ands says whatever to get elected.

Reality check. That's not Paul.

If you don't like the way he conducts his campiagn, then find someone else who better fits your ideals, or run yourself. Sure, he and the campaign make choices that any one of us may not agree with along the way. They are his choices to make.

Most of us like that he can not be bought and paid for. That includes us. Just because we invest time and money in him doesn't mean we own him, or set his priorities or agenda. Those of you who think a day of sign waving or a money donation buys you the rights to run Pauls campaign to feel important and special are setting yourself up for one big disapointment after another.

Again, get a grip.

I do not believe people feel like "we own him", but we have a right to be critical of moves the campaign makes, especially when they are ones that we feel are detrimental to the goal we are trying to accomplish. When the campaign continues to make moves that some feel are not conducive with a candidate trying to win the nomination, we are therefore less likely to donate our money and our time for the effort. There is only so much money and so much time in a day - there are more than just this one race at stake, and some have decided that their efforts are better used focusing on House, Senate, state and/or local races at this juncture. Simply stated when the Paul campaign makes moves that activists feel are foolish, he loses support from the grassroots - that does not mean he loses votes from us, but he loses our efforts.

I understand that.

Any critcisms here of his choice, won't change it. In fact, I just read that the campaign called Huckabee and FOX arrogant for not letting him participate via satelite. Them is fighting words. lol There must be more going on that we do not know about as to why Paul keeps declining.

Anyway, my thinking is, why put the negative energy of a criticism against Paul out there, when so many are already feeling beaten down and discouraged by the GOP/media sytem? Why add to that with generating a sentiment of feeling discouraged with the Paul campaign as well? It only serves to HURT, the efforts of grassroots central.

My purpose in this thread has been more about trying to help people let it go, and bring focus back to what we do have control over for helping to get his message out-phones, internet, radio shows, PACs, etc........

I realize Paul may loose the efforts and money ect. when he makes decisions supporters don't like. For everyone that diasagrees, another agrees or doesn't care either way. When you try to please everyone you end up pleasing NO ONE. Paul can't possibly run his campaign in the way every single individual supporter would like him to. We are either with him as he is or not. Knowing Paul is knowing he is like this.

Remember in '07-'08 when Bill O'Rielly was jerky to him, then started trashing him, and Paul made some comment about O'Reily at a goldwater type event that Bill was an unintelligent baffoon ( something of that sort) and then BO called him a pinhead???

This has always been Pauls relationship style with the people at FOX Paul has zero respect for. It's a part of who he is and some of us love him all the more for it and clearly some of you don't like it. I am just saying it is the reality at hand like it or not.

Heck of a way to put it, and if he doesn not win the big game, then all who have a true desire to see change will need to refocus their efforts in another direction, and that direction will be local.
Excellent point !!!

The campaign site doesn't show all the events. It is updated very sloppily. Ron Paul might very well speak at an important caucus site Saturday morning and we won't know about it until after the fact.

Not going to Huckabee is probably bad but we don't know all the details here. Ron also stayed away from the last Huckabee forum in South Carolina... while he was at home in Lake Jackson.

Teaming up with Romney to torpedo yesterday's Georgia debate (which didn't take place) was a much more questionable decision and obviously designed to prevent a repeat of South Carolina for Gingrich. That benefits Romney and almost certainly ended up hurting Ron Paul.

Campaign site has been updated. He will be on TV Sunday morning 2times, and then in AK the rest of the day. Nothing on the site for today.

For many years ... FAUX has treated him like a red headed stepchild, and he is treated like a "Looney Tune" by most ... I wonder why that is ?

And his treatement by FAUX is his own fault ... He does not control the situation.
It's a major fault which he alone possesses.

I never say this, but you deserve a ban for this extremely disrespectful and utterly arrogant comment. You are wrong, and you are seriously in the wrong place. Go back to hannity forums.

Ban this troll, I wont sit here and let the one person in Washington who FIGHTS for me- even when he is getting old, even when the crooks and elitists are fighting back with everything they have - get trashed on a forum dedicated to getting him elected.

Sometimes the best action to take,
is none at all. so
Whenever some you you "know it alls" are 76 yrs old and run for President,
you can run your campaign however you like.
Until then ...
Is 20 pages of BS, really making the best use of your time?

Appreciate the heads up. I think I'll go out for dinner tonight.

If RP wins Wash, I believe all will be forgiven, by even the harshest critics. :)

So let's hope for that.

I'm sure he's doing something up in Washington today. There may not be a rally, maybe it's just addressing a couple caucuses , or maybe something in the office, but he'll be doing something to try to get a W.

As I said earlier it is a serious and legitimate analysis of what the campaign is doing and whether or not their strategy is conducive with a campaign that is attempting to win a nomination.

Many of us who are activists at the local level have a limited amount of time and money that we can donate to a campaign. For example, I am in PA. In 2012 we have not only the Presidential Primary, but also primary races for US Senate, State Auditor General and State Senator to work on. There comes a time where we have to consider where our time and money is best spent.
