Ron Paul's MLK Day Money Bomb Jan 16th

I'm really against this. There was one for him in 2008 already. It will just keep the meme alive. I really think we should do a pro civil liberties one, against indefinite detention and the Patriot Act and the TSA etc. Give people reason to be excited about RON PAUL.

Yep, an MLK money bomb will just look like pandering, and it will just give the media an excuse to continue the smears in regard to MLK.
I do not personally see this as a good route.
Regardless, the next money bomb will be Jan 3-5, celebrating a top finish in Iowa, funding the New Hampshire push.

Agreed. If anything a moneybomb against the TSA, and the others you listed would be brilliant in my opinion.

For awhile I thought this was a good idea, but don't anymore. If we do this, we will be bringing up this issue everytime we post the name of it or tell someone about it. Bad idea. Set up a poll and see how many people agree. I doubt it will be very many.

Sailingaway maybe you could set up since you have such good rep on here?

Terrible idea.

A moneybomb on the day of the Iowa caucuses with the ticker staying up for the next couple of days is much better.

INVITE FRIENDS! THIS IS GREAT COUNTER-ATTACK AGAINST THE MSM! :)

We should forget about the msm. They haven't done much to help us so far and probably won't. Let's keep usin the stuff that works... phone banks, the web, social networks, word of mouth, etc.

God, please stop with the CAPS.

This won't counter the MSM, instead it will give them something to cover and extend the racist BS. Ignore media smears, don't react to them.

Do not like this at all. Will come off as pandering, even though well-intentioned.

Was hoping for something along the lines of sailingaway's 'Something's Happening Here" moneybomb. A MB about the NDAA, Patriot Act, TSA, militarization of the police, etc. Something with broad appeal dealing with the most glaring attacks on civil liberties today.

The MLK theme is missing the mark. And let's not forget, as mentioned up-thread, there already was an MLK moneybomb during the last campaign.

I too would prefer something more educational, related to the TSA, NDAA, etc... No need to kiss butt over the racist accusations which are in no way backed up by Ron Paul's actions in his many years in office.

I agree with both of you.

agreed

Lame bomb idea. There were 3 other threads the past 2 days that had GREAT money bomb ideas. Find them, and then change the name away from MLK to one of the names in the other bombs. Also, make it from Friday to Sunday. Not monday. Bombs are only working over 3 day Fri-Mon weekends this years.

I agree, with sailing. There are people who would see it as disrespectful instead of "in honor of."

Jan 3rd would be a day when all eyes are on the election and Ron Paul, it would be a great time to capitalize on the attention maybe a restoring freedom or civil liberties theme would be appropriate.
