Paul: Secretive elite controls America
Quote

Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul
Presidential candidate Ron Paul says he traces America's problems to the flawed monetary policy of the wealthy and secretive elite.

During a speech at the University of Washington on Thursday, Paul said the Congress and the Federal Reserve will not be able to stem the recession spurred by the home mortgage meltdown.
found it on another forum...don't have the link...

"The most important thing you can do is nothing," said the Texas congressman, who voted against the recent $146 billion economic stimulus package passed by the US House of Representatives.

The 10-term Texas congressman maintained that a series of wrong economic decisions by the Bush administration has led to a recession.

The government should allow the market to correct itself, Paul added.

Although the mainstream media attempts to keep a low profile on the 72-year-old presidential hopeful, he has managed to find a staunch group of supporters who say he has captured their hearts with his 'message of freedom' and constitutionalism.

"The Constitution was written for one specific purpose and that was to restrain the government, not to restrain the people," Paul has said.

Ugh. "Secret elite controls America"? Even if he did say that, simply posting those words is wildly out of context if he was talking about the Federal Reserve.

Ron Paul is not a conspiracy theorist, and regardless of whether or not you are, we don't want people thinking he is.

gah, they aren't that secret really and it's really just semantics. Everyone has no problem at all discussing the "military-industrial complex" and such. What exactly do you think that is? It by definition is a conspiracy .

I'm so tired of people twisting the word conspiracy to mean "crazy-paranoid fantasy". So, if you don't believe that there is a conspiracy (2 or more people working together to commit a crime), then you must believe that the government has not done anything wrong, or that any wrongs that have been committed are the sole responsibility of one renegade. I'm not sure which one is crazier, to believe that greed and lust for power might compel wealthy people to work together to gain even more wealth and power? Or, to believe that there is no such thing as a conspiracy.

Well, the fact is, a lot of people who say things like "a secret elite controls America" are actually crazy paranoid tinfoil hatters, who think the Rothschilds and the House of Windsor are Reptilians who control the banks and international politics to create a New World Order wherein humanity is a slave race to their golden god-idol Mammon.

Which is, perhaps, a good reason not to say things like "a secret elite controls America" and instead come up with terms like "military-industrial complex".

Actually it would be an aluminum foil hat. Tin foil was replaced by aluminum foil in the early-mid 20th century.

It's all perspective. I'll bet that to some it seems "tin-foil hattish" to buy a plasma TV with mere paper. Oh, and whether you know it or not, we are slaves, at least the majority of us are. Not to Mammon, but we are slaves none-the-less.

As for the New World Order, well, I'm not sure where people came up with that nonsense, I mean all you have to do is look at these videos to see that there is no such thing in the works:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=4bKwH3kJew4&feature=related
and I personally think this video really explains this best:

really it is all perspective. Looking at it from your perspective, Dr. Paul must stay inside the same box that everyone else is in or else he will look wierd and that can't be a good thing. Looking at it from Dr. Paul's perspective, he's compassionate and understanding that you are stuck inside a very tiny box and wants to help you out, but is being cautious and slow about it. Where you see a tin-foil hat, I see a man speaking the truth.

I am aware that you are concerned that Dr. Paul is risking his electability by speaking about things such as this, however, he has been speaking about these things for ages now. It's not going to hurt him, if it could hurt him then the MSM wouldn't drag out 15 year old smears to attempt to discedit him.

Actually they dont want to bring it out into the open, because it would make them look stupid.

Face the facts the NWO isnt a conspiracy but a reality, these same people that compare the NWO to wackos wearing tinfoil hats are the same people that are looking stupid over the truth that the NAFTA superhighway is being built as we speak in Texas.

Remember they said the NAFTA superhighway and the NAU were just conspiracy theories back then, and guess what they are mainstream now.

So my question to you is when are some of you going to wake up?

I didn't see any quote from him about a secret elite controlling anything.

You people are pathetic.

Why don't you give the full quote on the "secritive elite." Otherwise it smells fishy, like the recent newsletter smear job from that pimply faced neocon hack, put out rioght before NH primary.

The most approximate statement to 'secretive elite' by Ron Paul would be his characterization of Federal Reserve as secritive, which is quite true, and Dr Paul has urged greater transparency and congressional oversight in his numerous hearings of the Fed chairmans. It is also true that they are 'elite' i.e. very rich folks living in their own circle. There is nothing tinfoil about any of that, though. It is well known to anyone who cares to check congressional records and media reports over years.

I like how even my college sociology book explains that america is an oligarchy.

These were not his words, his words were far more reasoned and concise. The article has a horrible title that makes him sound like a conspiracy theorist...

He's basically saying that The Fed and corporations are controlling America...find an American who doesn't believe that.
