Yes lots. Most people I talk with everyday who plan to vote Ron in the primary who aren't forum members, volunteers etc would vote Romney/Paul no problem. Most moderates and even neocons would. It's a winning ticket if it came to pass.

I would bet money that 75% of those saying they wouldn't vote for it would change their tune by November.

I like the idea of Paul having a constant audience with the President of the United States.

It also would give legitimacy to libertarian ideals and open the door more for a Rand Paul presidency.

Plus, if Mitt ever tripped over his wallet and the unthinkable happened.....

So it's not all bad. I think we have to learn that sometimes a direct route isn't possible but several steps in the right direction is a good thing. We can't rely on the people for this because so many minds are poisoned against Paul. So I think having Paul in the White House would be a positive thing.

Staying on square one because we didn't get to the other side of the board is silly. We'd have Ron Paul in the White House influencing the President....a President who really likes him as a person and would actually listen.

Remember, in the Bible Joseph was placed as number 2 in Egypt and did an amazing amount of good because of his influence on the Pharoah. He was even able to save the lives of his brothers and do good things for his people.

We've got to take some victories that aren't always 100 percent. I just don't see why someone who supports Ron Paul and his ideals wouldn't want him right by the President, influencing him, discussing things with him, spending lots of time with him, etc. He would have a huge influence at number 2 in the land.

Cheney, for better or worse, called a LOT of shots in the Bush administration. Imagine if Paul had been in that spot, how the course of history might have been changed. Will we turn that down and send Paul back to being a congressman instead of being in the White House? Think strategy here for the future IF Paul doesn't win the nomination outright. And that's still an if.

If Ron Paul were to accept a VP spot from any of the candidates remaining, I would come to the conclusion that I was incorrect about my support for Ron Paul. That would be one of the worst things he could do in my opinion.

Dr Paul has never compromised in his 30+years in politics, but I also know he believes our country is on the cusp of failing. Would he rather have a VP spot and try to steer the country with a pulpit like that? Possibly. He's 76 - would he rather lose and hope the movement remains - or stay in the public eye and hope to give it more momentum.

Seriously, some people here are SOOOOO short sighted.

Dr Paul *is* this movement right now. If he fails, so goes our country.
I'd rather have him in the #2 spot than disappear from the limelight. Sorry.

Yes, how is this not hard to understand? 2nd in power isn't a loss. It's a HUGE position of influence and if he doesn't take this now I don't see him running again at his age. He could have trendendous influence and would bring his values to the White House. It's not difficult to understand. He doesn't have to agree with Romney on everything to be his VP. If Obama wanted me to be his VP right now I'd take it....so I could try to stop as much of his crap as possible!

First of all Matt Zack. Pull your fucking shit together. Ron Paul as VP would be one of the biggest liberty moves since Goldwater. It's cool to be an idealist, but the world isn't perfect. This would literally lead to a Rand presidency which would turn America around. The movement doesn't end in 2012.
