Ron Paul will be on Fox & Friends AND Morning Joe this morning (01/11/12)

Mark Halperin is prick. He has always attempted to marginalize Ron Paul. All those phony ratings reports after eaxh debate putting Ron in last place on almost every single debate. All the derogatory dialog against Ron on NBC/MSNBC. The "Obama Is A Dick" now apologist has to serve his TIME rag magazine and Obama campaign very well.

NOW, Halperin plays the HEASDTART cutting funds to preschoolers/kids as if Ron has zero compassion.

Mark Halperin was the guy that broadcasted to the media about reduced funding in FLORIDA, which reciprocated with the CNN, Dana Bash and FOX/NBC exploiting as a weakness.

Mark Halperin knows Romney won't beat Obama in the General, and IF he does, Romney is the most liberal. Halperin is such a scumbag.

Seriously you wouldn't vote for Rand over one thing. Incredible. I'm sorry, nobody is going to agree with anybody on every last stinking issue. Purism gets sickening after a while.

If Ron or Rand is in the VP slot, I will vote for them. Your vote is not for just president, it is for both. Actually it is for the electors that will vote for President AND Vice-President. If I failed to vote for Ron or Rand, I'm not voting for them to be Vice-President. No way, no how will I do that.

LOL I didn't say I wouldn't vote for Rand, I haven't been keeping up on his voting record since he's been in office I know he was one of 7 that voted against NDAA so that is really good in my book, but what I'm saying is I would need to look at his record aside from what he said on the campaign trail and judge whether I am going to put in as much time, effort and energy volunteering and doing all the crazy shit that most people would not do for any politician as I do for Ron Paul lol.

I'll be honest the Romney thing being President bothers me a lot more though and it's possible it could be a deal breaker for me, I would need to do some serious soul searching on that one, feels like a compromise as opposed to a coalition, but that's thinking about this at first glance, would need more time to think about it if it was ever a serious question.

Fair enough. Thanks for the clarification. +rep

No CNN interview?

hmmmm....can't imagine why.....lol......
. Instead they talked about him instead of with him, which gave some idiot the time to say Ron is just doing it all as a family business to increase his mailing list.

He's not even running for a speech at the convention anymore?

CNN - Lying with Impunity .... because they can.

Well he won't be on the ticket if Ron is the nominee, that's for sure. Romney only needs independents to balance his ticket for the win. He doesn't need anyone with any particular experience to balance it. This is an economy election, not a national security election. He has the "business experience". He needs true, presentable conservative that can draw in the Paulites that would likely swing the election. You have written Rand off, Romney and his top staff haven't.

Yeah there will be no Paul/Paul ticket. It would probably be Romney that would be VP. It would destroy Obama with independents. Even a Romney/Either Paul would destroy Obama with independents.

You may be right, I'd love to see Rand in that position. I have no idea what the Romney people are thinking....so you could be right. I have also been wrong on why Paul won't attack Romney and why Romney won't attack Paul. So I could be wrong again, as you were right on that one...

I just think we must remember when it comes to selecting a VP...the establishment likes to push and pull the presumptive nominee how exactly to go about it. And technically the VP selection still has to be voted upon by the delegates.

If Romney reached out to Rand, I don't think you could ask for more of a concession from their camp to ours. I think experience is overrated as a concern. You add a VP who brings to the table what you lack. Romney has name id and governing experience, he needs someone who can lock up bonafides with the conservative base. Rand is interesting in that because he appeals to tea party voters, social conservatives, and will help with independents.

Purists will throw the baby out with the bath water, but if Rand is the VP, it's a huge success for the liberty movement considering the expectations coming into this whole deal.

The success of the movement means there will be more than one strain of what fits within its boundaries, but a shift toward liberty that embraces legitimate differences in opinion would show maturity and a potential for growth. It won't be doctrinaire libertarianism, which most people frankly wouldn't want, but it will move in that direction, a necessary and healthy corrective.

And as others note, Rand would become a much more powerful national figure win or lose, setting up the case for 2016 very well should Obama survive, which I believe he very well might.

I've been told there is no way in hell that Rand is a VP candidate for Romney.

I think Ron's teams' strategy is angling for the National Convention.

If that's the case, they should remember 1996 and Pat Buchanan, when the Brigades got all sorts of party planks passed, and Dole/Kemp behind the scenes pledged to ignore them.

Who gave Ron the super Wheaties ? ....he is absolutely on fire. Tell the campaign to keep feeding him the good stuff. The world has changed in one day and Ron is taking everyone to liberty shed. Yeehaa!

I'd totally believe that. Also, given how the GOP has routinely ignored their own platform, I wouldn't trust anything included there as ever seeing light of day. I think this campaign will have some interesting choices depending upon what happens in SC.

How do they make money then? The ridiculous Starbucks product placement?
Think of MSNBC on the whole as just one big running advertisement for their parent company, GE. GE didn't buy them because they felt charitable. Any idea how much big govt related money GE pockets every year?

He looked so Presidential in that interview. Great tie and the suit looked sharp! In th interview in M. Joe he only stumbled slightly by not clearing up the issue regarding seniors, but everything else was perfect and he finished so strong. Congress needs to grow a backbone!!!

My hope is that Romney comes in and wins S.C., and santorum, perry, and gingrich drop out directly afterward making it a 2 man race with a close delegate total as well. At that point not only do WE go scorched earth on Romney... but ALL the "anyone but Romney" folks come out of the woodworks. I know there are a lot of anti-Romney PAC's out there.
