Ron Paul: Why should those that honor religious freedom support him?

Alright, two different takes. I do not believe that there is an assumed civil authority of our leaders to influence our religion.

I'll take your word on that.

I am merely saying that they are human beings too, and entitled to have religious beliefs.

I agree. Should those beliefs be totally and absolutely exempt from civil authority?

As long as the Church of the United States is not created I am happy.

You must be extremely fond of civil authority over religion.

I am neither fond of it, nor opposed to it. It just happens. Should there be civil authority over religion? Probably not, but it is a state issue. I disagree with Tennessee and Texas (I think it's tennessee...) that forces civil servants to declare a belief in God, but in my opinion, it is the obligation of those opposed to that law to overturn it in that state. The second a national church is created, all state laws on prayer in school, intelligent design, etc, becomes null and void in the face of the federal law, thus vastly limiting freedom.
