Ron Paul: "We know none of the four will be elected." WTF?

You can't tell me I'm wrong just like I can't tell you you are wrong. steph3. There is no right or wrong choice...it's all subjective. tones

Yea I can tell you that you are wrong. Because your vote for PALIN won't count, it only counts if you vote for McCain, if you vote for McCain liberty clearly isn't in your priorities. ;)

This is a surprise to you?

Whole lot of confidence he has.
.

Of course not. We are not truly electing anyone anymore. There is a "selection" not an election. By voting 3rd party, we are only showing our disrespect for the system and involved in dilution. I don't think any of us really ever thought one of these people would be elected...at least I wasn't under that impression.

bingo gringo!

That has to do with when their nominating conventions were scheduled. So... irrelevant.

Not in the context it was presented.

The Libertarians and the CP have different ideologies. I don't like some planks in the CP, but the LP continues to behave like the world's oldest angry teenager party. They have yet to produce any significant national leadership, despite quite a long history.

Angel..I have to agree with you about the LP. I passed my chair to the co chair and left. The LP , although I don't believe it is in itself immoral, seems to draw people who are atheists, porn addicts, druggies and gamblers, into the fold. I make no judgements on them, but it's just not my kind of thing. I love the basic principles of the LP...but I can hold those principals without being a member of it. I have come to the realization that I am a paleoconservative in the tradition of Pat Buchanan, and most of Ron Paul's philosophy (not too keen on free markets) , I am really an OLD Republican. I'm disgusted with the NEO CONS who have hijacked the party. Tones

Re OP,

Reality bites... (Ron Paul: "We know none of the four will be elected." )

We need a Harry Browne / Ron Paul clone that can educate the masses and get into the debates (for some long overdue voter education).

Clever wit, wisdom, polish, clarity and honesty are traits needed to "sell" the Liberty message to voters (maybe add a dash of fear mongering and screaming just to get their attention first before the non-government solution is revealed). Unfortunately, we have no such person and the time tested trick of the two-way race is getting revved up to keep us under control as we are marched away from sound money and personal freedom. (We are heading towards a central planned, totalitarian NWO with a single fiat currency).

Even with fair (unbiased) MSM coverage, access to debates (equal time) and a "perfect" candidate, it may be too late to elect a Liberty oriented candidate or transform an established political party. This is because of the huge number of people that work for the government and enjoy taking (or handing out) public largess stolen via taxes or fiat inflation (as they ignore the cost/harm of this immoral, unsustainable theft). Liberty will not be getting many votes from those on the unconstitutionally funded public dole, or from those enjoying employment or business advantage due to regulation / protection that benefits them, alone or as a group, at the expense of everyone else.

36 years for the LP… getting nowhere, real fast as of lately, with the recent Barr Bomb. There are a lot of good, responsible people in the LP!

I was hoping for LP ballot access #s for 2010/2012 and thought we had a chance with Barr (even though I don't like him). Bible Boy will be hard pressed to bring 5% to the Constitution party. The prospect of Mc-100-year-war-Cain or an Obam-in-nation seem especially (though equally) gloomy for the nation’s future.

Ron Paul is right too. None of them will be elected. So what's the big deal?

Since when does Dr. Paul mimic the media's talking points?

Remember that Stephanopoulous interview?

"That's not gonna happen."

"Do you know for absolute? Are you willing to bet... every cent in your pocket?"

"Yes."

What was he supposed to say? "I am very confident that one of the third party candidates will win this election!"

Come on, this isn't even newsworthy.

I don't want an Obama/McCain presidency. Ugh, if only Ron endorsed Barr. I think Tones is right, he could've gotten in the debates because of that.

Well, I don't think he should have said anything. If you just saw the quote without knowing who said it, you'd think George Stephanopoulos said it.

Come on, this isn't even newsworthy.

Since when do I work for a news network?
