Ron Paul vs. Paul Krugman on Bloomberg TV 4/30/12 (Video and transcript added)

Krugman said he was a defecit hawk duing Bush, didn't want to cut taxes, then says now we need to spend? What? Can anyone see any difference between keep taxes high and spend?

I'm telling yall Krugman ran from Ron. He gave them the "get me the hell out of here" look. thats why she was tough on him, she smelt blood.

QFT. I think Krapman didn't want to go on with the Dr. in the second segment. He can't handle it. I would have loved to see Dr. Paul unmask at the strong dollar sophistry.

"The dollar is not depreciating value" then compares it to other depreciating currencies.

LMAO!
I stopped listening when Dr Paul left, but if was using the dollar index as the measure of the dollar's value, that's over 50% euro. I'm sure Krugman is smart enough to know the fallacy of what he said.

Lolz that is what I thought.

Did he also just say that expanding the money supply has no effect on food and gas prices????

Yep. I don't know how krug buys his food and gas, but in America I buy mine with fed notes. I buy other things that have gone up with fed notes as well.

mmmm his logic escapes me... lol

I noticed that too. Has he been using the term "depression" before this? Despite my grave disagreements with Krugman's prescriptions, it is a correct characterisation of the state of the economy IMHO. I notice that's in the title of the book he just releasesd (the plugging of which was the real reason behind this media appearance).

True...even a broken clock is right twice a day.

This fed guy is ok, he said "all we can do monetarily is put off these problems. its a pretty bad thing to do to our children"

My bad...I totally thought that was sarcasm. I was wrong, totally my fault. Damn print contexts!!!! :)

It's cool dude. I think it was my wording. Maybe I can't turn off my subconcious sarcasm vocab.
I suddenly feel like the character from Robot Chicken "Bitch Pudding". BLAM!

Its a bad thing to do all around. All they can do about inflation is "lie" about it. They redefine the price indices so as to hide the problem. The FED's primary method of controlling inflation is failing - you cant get much lower than zero, and giving away money via bailouts isnt helping either.

Inflation hurts the average household in food and fuel costs (unless you use the new CPI, which excludes food and fuel prices)

Inflation hurts fixed income (retired folks) because their savings is robbed, and their interest rates are kept artificially low.

Ignoring economic/monetary policy is leading to this inflation - it will come home to roost
