"Ron Paul, talking about a secretive highway that is a figment of his imagination..."

This would actually stand Ron in good stead with some Christians - this is the one NWO topic they are onto ... Jerry Corsi has been all over this and they brought it up at the value voters debate too. I don't think huckabee would stand up there and tell it like it is on this topic, if he really knows.

There used to be a billboard in town that advertised the NAFTA super highway! It said something about increasing jobs and other nonsense. It had half the billboard covered with an old man in a cowboy hat (he looked like that guy who has "diabetes" in the commercials). It has been gone for about a year or two now though.

No one is watching CNN right now but you guys. And they know it. They're bating you. Just turn the channel.

also check the houston chronicle they are documenting it well, they are SELLING our texas intersates to a private SPANISH company to operate toll roads.

THEN they have a contract with the state that says the speed limits must be 50 mph on non toll roads or they have to PAY the private company for "loss potential profits"

Too bad Texas isn't an early primary state.

As I've said before, why do pundits assume they know more about what's going on with public policy and within the political establishment than a man who has spent 20 years in Washington? And a man who represents a Texan district, for crying out loud!

If it was some homeless guy on the street, I'd consider it a conspiracy theory. When a long time representative says some plans have been suggested, I wouldn't be so quick to discredit the idea.

They didn't ask him, but they picked the question. I think he dealt with it very well, though he could have done better. It's obvious enough that a highway from Mexico to Canada is not outlandish or crazy, especially when they're actually trying to build the first leg of it.

AFAIK this highway already exists. It's called I5.

I think this is great for us. We have an easily verifiable example of CNN lying on national TV. There are a lot more people that know about the highway than they (the media) would like to think. Someone needs to make a youtube video... I think this could be BIG. Once we break the preconceived notion that media is a reliable source of information, people will wake up in droves. At least that's my optimistic opinion.

My letter to CNN

I saw this thread a little too late, but I sent the following to CNN via their contact about TV link on the bottom of the page. Feel free to forward it if you want:

-------------------

One of your post debate commentators essentially called Ron Paul crazy for mentioning the highway connecting Mexico, US, Canada stating that it wasn't a reality. He said:

"if you want to be taken seriously as a candidate you can't be like ron paul, who is national TV still talking about these things like secretive superhighways that are a figment of his imagination."

This is incorrect, and apparently this individual does not know how to inform himself before presenting his uneducated opinion. The lack of integrity is disgusting.

You only have to go as far as the North America's SuperCorridor Coalition's web site at: http://www.nascocorridor.com/ to learn about the project which has been called the "NAFTA Supoer Corridor," the "NAFTA Super Highway," the "NASCO Trade Corridor," and the "Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor."

But why stop there. Some US States have setup web sites talking about it as well:

Texas Department of Transportation: http://www.keeptexasmoving.com/
Colorado Department of Transportation: http://www.portstoplainscorridor.com/

And let's not forget:

http://www.portstoplains.com

All of which essentially state:

"The Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor is a planned, multimodal transportation corridor including a multi-lane divided highway that will facilitate the efficient transportation of goods and services from Mexico, through West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Oklahoma, and ultimately on into Canada and the Pacific Northwest."

Some simple Google searches yield numerous articles and commentaries discussing the topic and the legislation related to it. You would hope that I wouldn't have to waste my time pointing these out to a news network like CNN.

The commentator needs to be held accountable for presenting uneducated opinion as fact. First and foremost, a formal apology should be issued to Ron Paul and his campaign. Secondly a "LOUD" retraction should be issued and broadcast numerous times in an attempt to undo some of unfair and un-American damage that your broadcast station has inflicted on the Ron Paul campaign.

yup

I think this is great for us. We have an easily verifiable example of CNN lying on national TV. There are a lot more people that know about the highway than they (the media) would like to think. Someone needs to make a youtube video... I think this could be BIG. Once we break the preconceived notion that media is a reliable source of information, people will wake up in droves. At least that's my optimistic opinion.

A concerted effort should be made here to have this guy rebuked out in the open. This one we should not back down from, and make a huge stink over, as huge as possible. Turn his hoodwinking into a national debate.
When we have the truth on our side like this, with the obvious attempt to make RP out to be a crazy lunatic, I think we should show them the full wrath of the people. Even get CNN to come out with a public apology, although unlikely, we should still light a big fire under this guys ass.

I agree that we should do everything we can to get the real message out on the NAU and Super Highway now. It will make CNN look sooo stupid!

Should we go as far as to print flyers and hand them out everywhere?

Who cares about a highway? Yes, sure the people who's land is being taken away do care (and I sympathize with them), but this simply will never be seen as a big issue to most people. A highway != North American Union, at least not in their eyes. Economic prosperity depends on moving goods quickly. Most people will see it that way.

Now, I don't know what to make about this North American Union. Is it a pipe dream or something more? I do think it's the best explanation for why those in power seem to be actively trying to destroy the economy. It's easier to bring the US down to Mexico's level than it is to bring Mexico up. But I'd have to see a lot more before I'd believe the SPP is anything more than an expanded NAFTA. Pictures of the 100 Amero coin on some Hal Turner page only lead me to conclude that someone is good at photoshop, cause they ain't going to make coins that big. Who know though? I guess we'll see soon enough.

Okay, I saw some indirect links to the main pages, but, thought this would help:

http://www.keeptexasmoving.com/index.php/trans-texas_corridor

And, the 'article' on this page, which appears to be TxDOT itself...

Interstate and International Trade Corridors
Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor

The Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor is a proposed divided highway corridor stretching from Laredo through West Texas to Denver, Colorado. Designated as a High Priority Corridor by Congress in 1998, the Ports-to-Plains corridor will facilitate the efficient transportation of goods and services from Mexico, through West Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and ultimately on into Canada and the Pacific Northwest.

Together, the communities along the Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor are becoming the gateway to trade throughout the nation and with Mexico and Canada. The Ports-to-Plains Trade Corridor will provide a vast number of benefits for communities along the corridor. It will:

allow for the development of less congested ports of entry along the Texas-Mexico border.
provide alternatives to other congested corridors that run through major metropolitan areas.
help to increase trade between the U.S., Mexico and Canada, contributing to a rise in regional mobility and economic status for all three nations.
