Ron Paul Speaking at CPAC in DC, Thursday Feb 7th

recurring nightmares

I am having recurring nightmares of counting straw poll ballots and having David Keene walking up do me and handing me another big stack of ballots. He says to count these too. They are all writeins for George W. Bush. His stack is larger than my stack. Just like his wad of hundred dollar bills is way larger than mine. He says don't count those Ron Paul or Jean Kirkpatrick ballots.

I'm going!!! I'm working on getting a fake school ID right now, because if im dropping $125 its gonna be going to the campaign, $25 is a fair price.

I'll be going, I'm a University of Maryland student only 5 minutes from DC. Apparently there is a meetup group at my school but I think it's inactive?

Go Turps! lol

USC grad here. Spent some time in Maryland while stationed in Arlington. ;)

I hear McCain will be speaking as well. What time is that bozo presenting?

ugh, Paul is getting in kind of late to make the evening sound bytes. Guess thats why McCain and Romney are first.

Yeah, but he's speaking after Cheney, McCain and Romney. This means the audience will get to compare what they have to say against Dr Pauls message. I think he will make a huge impact on the people attending CPAC. It may not be enough to get him nominated but it will spark something in all who attend and we can fan that spark into a flame over the next 2 years. Remember there are congressional elections in 2010 that Dr Pauls message could seriously have an impact on.

And most importantly, the more support Dr Pauls message gets the more empowered existing Congressmen will be to vote with Dr Paul on the issues. Many Congressmen have said that they support Dr Paul but feel that if they vote with him they will lose elections. This may be the impetus they need to see how much support the message gets. Even if they only dip their toe into the water of supporting Dr Paul, every bit helps.

Oh and there's a straw poll held during the conference as well.

The results from last year's straw poll were very interesting.

Romney came in as the first choice with 21%, then Rudy... McCain was way down around 12% (even Brownback beat him).

McCain did even worse when asked about who their 2nd choice would be. He got 8%.

For Ron Paul, tomorrow could go either way or neither way.

Looks like I'm going to be there today.

Can't wait.

POTUS08 on XM is going to be broadcasting today's events as well.

I was watching C-SPAN 1 about an hour ago, they had a congressman on from Hawaii. A caller asked specifically about the MSM blackout on Ron Paul. The congressman said he supported Dr. Paul and considered him a good friend, and the C-SPAN host mentioned that C-SPAN would be covering Dr. Paul's speech at CPAC today.

C-SPAN is going to broadcast it on C-SPAN3, if you don't get that channel they usually re-run these things on the other channels later or you can watch it live or later from archives online:

he's supposed to be on at 4:30pm

I'm trying to watch on cspan.org - The VP is speaking atm, I think - but it isn't streaming properly. Guess I'll have to watch afterwards.

Hmmm, I wonder what he is passing off for his brand of 'globalist' conservatism.

Suspending a campaign has a different meaning depending on the party.

On the Republican side, decisions on how to allocate delegates is left to the state parties.

This SHOULD be a very favorable forum for Dr Paul. Here are a few snips from last year's straw poll results:
