Ron Paul Rally in Minneapolis, Minnesota Draws 4,000

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 4, 2008

ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA – Today, Republican presidential candidate and Texas Congressman Ron Paul addressed a crowd of approximately 4,000 veterans, students and supporters at the Northrup Hall on the University of Minnesota campus.

The large crowd of over 4,000 is more than Hillary drew only a few days ago in the same venue, which was reportedly only 3,800.

“Dr. Paul’s message of freedom, peace and prosperity is resonating with voters here in Minnesota,” said Marianne Stebbins, Ron Paul 2008 state coordinator in Minnesota. “We are planning on a surprisingly strong finish here in the Land of a 10,000 Lakes.”

Wow, that's impressive! There was over an inch of snow there today too. That won't keep Minnesotans from going out, but it really slows down traffic. There were probably a lot of people who decided to pass on the rally after a long slow drive home from work.

I just got home from the rally! It was amazing! The auditorium seats 4,850 people and it was nearly full!! Ron Paul did a great job and the Obama supporter I brought with me is feeling really conflicted now and really likes Ron Paul a lot! There was a huge party in the parking ramp after too. haha

With beer and weed? :D

I just returned from the rally as well. "Amazing. Amazing"

The crowd was great and lively. I'd say about 4000, give or take. Ron Paul had a few moments where he rambled a bit but I'd still give the speech an "A". The anti-war sentiment will really play in MN, especially with the college crowd. The highway away from the University was a caravan of "Ron Paul" bumperstickers with everyone honking their horns. Quite the night.

Just got back from the RP Rally in MN. Yeah, the place was packed - pretty much every seat was taken. So there must have been close to 4000 there for sure. It was awesome to see RP in person. Was hoping to get an autograph and picture with him, but once I saw how many people were there, I knew that wasn't going to happen - haha. It was like being at a concert.

Same here regarding the picture with him. It was great just to hear him speak in person though!

The auditorium actually seats close to 5,000. I'm not sure how many people were in the balcony, but the entire main floor was full. Definitely over 4,000 people though.

That is awesome. I was fortunate to hear and meet RP in Charleston, SC. I like how he does is speeches. He educates you so that you can understand why we need to change course. He doesn't pander. This is a great quality I think because it shows how much he really does care.

I just got home from the rally. Amazing to finally see him in person - and in the same hall my college graduation took place in, no less. The auditorium was packed - nearly every seat filled, even in the back rows. Afterwards, people walked through the campus streets shouting "Ron Paul" to each other as they headed back to their cars. Two guys "borrowed" one of the giant RP signs, and said they were going to pay a visit to the Obama rally going on afterwards. What fun! :D

The balcony had people half way up to the back wall, but with spaces in between the people (ah, non-crowded comfort :-P ), so like 2/5, 3/5 of the half of the balcony was full

It was a wonderful rally. The positive feeling of having thousands of people cheer with you for what you believe in is great. Ron Paul gave a great speech, the singer/musicians that were there were awesome(the song the man wrote was very touching), and the caucus primer was good. The video was a little pointless and long at times(it was like one of the countless youtube videos I've seen), but that didn't detract from the evening at all. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Simply amazing. He's catching on, I'm telling ya.
