Ron Paul on Russia Today

I thought her voice was kinda cooooool. Rocky and Bullwinklish (Natasha & Boris)

I remember when boogeyman terms "Russian" and "Ruskie" and "Communist" were used in political speeches as "Muslim" and "Islamic" are used today by Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Romney, Huckabee, Giuliani, McCain, Thompson, et al.

People hated Russians because they were told to do so by the Fox News channels of the day.

Maybe they hated the Russians because of the gulags, the purges, the imperial expansion and the generally secretive and belligerent behavior of the Soviets. Then again maybe you are right. Maybe it was all those commie sympathizers in the MSM that told us to hate them.

I had the pleasure of meeting her and discussing the Ron Paul campaign and was one of about three she interviewed earlier in the day for piece she is putting together about our grassroots movement. She questioned the lack of media exposure we are getting and will be a friend to our cause.Be nice to her.:)

Sadly, most of that can be applied to the US today.

I've got to question your motivations on this one. I don't believe he was saying that there weren't valid reasons to object to Soviet (not russian, obviously) influence, but lets not be blind to the very real facet of U.S. government propaganda as far as the USSR was concerned. The CIA routinely overestimated Soviet material strength and capability...not to mention the fact that the specter of monolithic communism served admirably to provide a smokescreen behind which the U.S. government overthrew numerous third world governments and even elected officials because they were 'communistic' or supposedly aligned with the Soviets. It's hard to publicly support a CIA-backed coup because United Fruit didn't like the results of the last election - it's much easier when 'those people' have had communistic influences descend upon them. America to the Rescue!

Who knows? Perhaps the Russians know things about our country we don't. It's not like they have to listen to the main stream media to get their information.

Maybe the terrorists hated the Americans because of the gulags, the purges, the imperial expansion and the generally secretive and belligerent behavior of the Americans.

Holy shit...I think Ron Paul might be onto something.

~X~

That is like saying everyone should hate Americans because our government takes part in torture, gulags (Gitmo & Secret Rendition), and imperial expansion. Just because our government does it that does not mean we all support it. Our media hides most descent that occurs in our nation and as such an outsider might get the view that we all support it; much like the Soviet controlled media did.

Lol, Russians always talk like that, in a sort of serious way. It's not that we sound mean or are mean (well not all the time), but that's normal for he to talk like that.

We did not seem to mind them so much when they did most of the heavy lifting against the Third Reich.
