Ron Paul on NPR Friday 2/15/2013 with Tavis Smiley and Cornel West (link to audio)

Sounds like something the scholarship elite would label a particularly annoying up and coming school of thought that might threaten the comfort of status quo.

Yeah really. After reading torch's posts it sounds like a conflict theorist is someone with big picture thinking ability that says "ok this is fucked up right here". Sorta like the subject of HL Mencken's quotes. One of my fav thinkers btw.

then how does that make ron a conflict theorist?

no no no I made sure not to label him. Just listening to him on NPR made me think of the conflict theory etc

I went balls-deep into sociology.
I read Mills the most, he had the best studies on the power centers of this country.

really interesting stuff! Getting As in that class right now :)

I didn't get A's often, but most of my teachers were socialist or marxist- and i'd do papers on their favorite theorist- tearing them down.
There was only one professor that appreciated my perspective.
game theory is also fun, especially when applied to the art of the conversation.
