Has anyone considered the idea of Ron Paul having a nice private chat with Obama?
If Ron Paul can convince Obama that it is not in America's interest to have an empire there might be some things that can be worked out.

If the eventual president were to do an about face on interventionist foreign policy all of our efforts will have been worthwhile.

He may also be able to convince him of the logic of competing currencies.

I think many Democrats admire Ron Paul for his courageous stand against the war.

If Obama were to select Ron Paul as his VP he would easily win the election. I would be far happier with someone with Ron Paul's integrity as VP than a McCain or Romney presidency. And perhaps he could persuade Obama of the veracity of sound monetary policy and limited government.

We may not be able to have everything in one fell swoop but we have demonstrated that we have good ideas with growing support. Why "broker" anything with the Republicans when they have treated us in such a manner?

Thoughts?

NOT going to happen. Obama wants to increase spending by $280 billion, Paul wants to decrease it at least $150 billion. Two different directions.

Obama = CFR

Don't fool yourself.

Look at all the "front runners". Clinton, Obama, McCain. All CFRers.

Ron Paul would never, Obama is the biggest joke I have ever seen

I don't particularly like Obama. But I like him better than Hillary, McCain, or Romney. If a guy you don't like is going to get elected it makes sense to try to sway them to your way of thinking.

That' true. So if you are going to have a CFR guy become president doesn't it make sense to try to influence them? CFR or not Obama can't beat Hillary without some outside support. Ron Paul, when you add Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, Independents, etc. realistically brings about 10-15% of voters to the table...enough to play king maker.

Yes. They disagree on spending. But they may be able to agree on foreign policy. If we are going to increase spending by $280 billion wouldn't it make sense to bring the troops home from overseas. My argument here is not that this would be the ideal plan. What I'm suggesting is that we take what we can get. Obviously we can't have everything. Victory may have to come in incrementally. If we can change US policy to be what the founders envisioned that would be a huge victory for the revolution.

Obama probably dont even know who Ron Paul is. Hes surrounded by Liberals prepping him up and foaming at the mouth.

You mean "doesn't" know?

As I've stated before...You take what you can get.

Ron Paul said the closest person he agrees with is Kucinich and I'd tend to agree...now there's a ticket imho :D

You must not follow Paul's platform very closely. Obama is a liberal as they come...most liberal in the Senate last year. Paul is the most conservative, why on earth would he ask Paul to be his VP?

Obama doesn't need Paul to win, he has an ignorant electorate, the worst president in the history of the nation sitting in the office and vilifying the word "Republican " every day, and a loving media.

Obama will be Clinton's VP.

I know it is bad example, but it would be same as Stalin/Hitler ticket, they are on different poles dude :)

This is my wet dream, although with Paul/Obama. Obama gets his experience and can handle the transition of social services. Paul can deal with the foriegn policy.

Too bad it won't happen :(
