Ron Paul / Obama

Maybe they could agree on foreign policy, but nothing else. Obama is a huge nanny stater socialist, who also wants to outlaw guns, socialize medicine, increase your taxes 100% and kill the economy with global warming bullshit legislation - plus force you to use compact fluorescent light bulbs and ride public transportation while he's at it . No thanks.

There is no way in hell Obama is going to team up with Ron Paul.

Hell it looks like he might even win this thing or be clintons vp.

I like that you seem to think you are going to have a choice.

This actually could be the silliest topic on this forum.

In what sense? I've seen many posts claiming we are going to win a brokered election with less than 5% of the vote. Does that really sound more reasonable?

The Obama-bots are out in force tonight!!!

Why would he want to be Clinton's VP when he could win it outright? That makes zero sense.

The last candidate in terms of both sides I would EVER vote for is Obama. I'd hate to vote against Paul but I would have to.

Obama talks about compromise but my sixth sense tells me Obama is the type that holds grudges and is rather judgemental .

There's been plenty of crap posted here, but this has got to be the worst post in the history of this board. Not surprisingly it comes from a war loving barrack-o-bot.

There's no Obama bot about it. I've been a supporter of Ron Paul since 1986. But there comes a time when we need to start assessing our potential to make an impact realistically. Ross Perot fared far better than we are doing now and ultimately had no impact whatsoever on anything. He lost and the establishment went right back to doing what they were doing before. In a perfect world Ron Paul would be the president. But we live amongst mindless morons. Sadly, many on this forum seem oblivious to the reality that stubborn single mindedness will not, in and of itself, win. I want, when this entire thing is over, for as many Libertarian ideas implemented as possible into the platform of the winning candidate. Right now Ron Paul has begun talking about raising funds to campaign for his congressional seat. That would seem to indicate that he may intend on attempting to work for the freedom movement from within the Republican Party. Obviously that is one option. But it is certainly not the only one. I'm pretty pissed at the way the Republicans have conducted themselves in this campaign. I will always put principle over party. If anyone wants to join in a reasoned debate feel free to jump in. But please save the ad hominems for your visit to redstate.

And for the record I prefer that Ron Paul break away from the Republicans right now. A third party run is the best chance at this stage. The Republican ship is sinking. Best to jump off right now.
