Imagine Ron announced he's running for president under the LP banner. I'm sure they'd immediately accept him and offer him the nomination. He has enough of a base following and name recognition to get media and rekindle the grassroots. When it's Trump vs. Hillary he could gain serious traction and I really feel like he could poll above 15% and get in the debates. Imagine him up there vs Trump and Hillary.

Do you think if Ron did this he'd poll above 15% to get in the debates? If so, why shouldn't he do this?

Are you wondering if this might really happen?

I can't imagine Ron doing it. At his stage in life, and after 3 tries under his belt I don't think he would even consider subjecting himself to that bunch of BS.

He's old. Thats the only reason, I think. He is 80 years old, and with his some of the health things going on in his family, I guess he has decided not to. You know it has to have crossed his mind. It would be the best thing that could possibly happen. But I can't see any signs of him moving on it. So, my guess is he just knows he is too old. I wish that werent the case. I agree that he would get the LP nomination, although the Johnson faction would whine in a nasally annoying way about mountain climbing and other such feats (ok, probably talk a little about abortion and lgbtq).... I also think that he would be able to further destroy Trump's anti-establishment coalition. But also in a sense observe, that Ron Paul would be aiding the anybody but Trump people, and maybe he is not comfortable with that.

I was hoping that Judge Napolitano would get in. That might be more plausible, but he would have to walk over Peterson's back.

There are so many reasons he shouldn't and won't. He's too old. He already tried 3 times and didn't win. Why would this be any different. We already had 2 educational campaigns, the general public was not educated they are poised to nominate 2 canditates under criminal investigation or on trial and don't care. Ron wouldn't poll 15%, the daesh boogymen are on a rampage. The ideas people here care about are not popular, it's time for us to face that. Keep your head down and look out for your own, it's all going to fall apart eventually.
