I just received this email from the MI Campaign! I knew it!!!

Dear all,

We are just a few days away from the primary, and we know many of you have literally given your blood, sweat, and tears to this campaign, so we wish we had better news. There’s no other way to say this, than to just admit it outright.

Dr. Paul will not be coming to Michigan in the days before the primary.

We have been speaking with National for weeks now to arrange a competitive schedule for Dr. Paul in the state, but they have decided to send him elsewhere, and for that we are so sorry. This is not the news any of you want to hear, and it certainly is not what we worked for, but regardless of where the campaign sends him, Dr. Paul still needs us to work harder than ever to win Michigan.

We all know that this campaign began with the grassroots, and it has grown and flourished with your solid, selfless effort. The campaign will be won with the grassroots, and we have the opportunity in Michigan to show the campaign and the whole country what power the people hold to affect change.

The Ron Paul campaign is truly for the people, by the people. We, the people, can lift Dr. Paul up to victory on January 15. We have all given so much time, money, and heart to Dr. Paul, and have made tremendous sacrifices for the cause of freedom, and Dr. Paul is certainly appreciative of all you do for his—our—cause. We are proving to this nation that when we stand together, we can affect great change and restore our republic.

To us, Dr. Paul is truly “Hope for America;” to him, we are that same hope. We have four days to let our hope shine for this state and the nation to see, and come January 15, when the media reports that you, the grassroots, have won Michigan for Ron Paul, no one will be able to doubt that the love of liberty is no passing fad.

Contrary to some reports, Dr. Paul has not given up on Michigan, and we should not give up on him. Should we be victorious on January 15, he will certainly be coming to rally with us in the following days, so we can all look forward to welcoming him home then. And we do mean home—did you know that Dr. and Mrs. Paul once lived just down the street from our headquarters in Detroit? His brother lives in Grand Rapids, as well. Dr. Paul has strong sentimental ties to Michigan, and as you might have heard him say in the debate last night, he’s hoping to win here on January 15.

While the other candidates are out rallying we will be canvasing our neighborhoods locking in those last undecided voters. We can do this! Let us band together, as the strongest grassroots campaign this state and nation have ever seen, and deliver victory for Ron Paul on January 15!

He was here a lot a couple months ago... Had a big fund raiser at La Shish (sp?).

Very nice email from the HQ.

This person should be advising him on getting this type of speech into his debates.

"The people in my grassroots efforts are fighting day and night for the freedom of America"
"They stand united in a revolution that will change this country and bring honor back our great Republic."
"We understand the stakes. We understand the challenge and WE are up for it. We are the American voice"

This is truly unfortunate.

What a heavy burden for Michigan's grassroots.

You guys can do it though. I have faith.

Either he is crazy or one smart fish

My guess is he is playing whackomole, letting each of them go bankrupt and saving the powder, for what I have no clue but I'd guess as the FED stampedes inflation to protect the international banker pals and the stock market crashes with housing he will unleash whatever strategy he has, 1-9 he ends up either demanding the republican nomination and if not, educates Americans with the cash and runs thrid party.

Those of you that are in Michigan, are you seeing any ads or hearing them on the radio?

Looks like he's going to be in Nevada.

Since the news of Romney and now McCain, intending to pour lots of their money into Michigan, it makes sense for RP not to do so and concentrate his efforts of some of his money elsewhere. This is especially so since fundraising since January 1st has been lacklustre and RP can't be certain of the MLK fundraiser results. This is why donations NOW are so important rather than waiting for the next moneybomb. The uncertainty of moneybombs must be wrecking havoc for campaign planning.

This makes no sense, RP needs a victory, and MI is his best shot. National is just flat out WRONG! RP needs to make MI is home until the primary... what is going on????

Yeah, there's been a lot of radio ads. Unfortunately almost all of them are about NAFTA and a "international superhighway", hard to believe with possibly the worst economy in the country that they'd air these.

Ron Paul's best chances are the northwestern states going by donor maps.

I have to admit I don't get RP's plan at all. He needs a victory (not a second or third place, an actual victory) prior to Super Tuesday... Can anyone explain what the plan is???

Well, first of all, Mitt Romney is probably going to take Michigan. Then I know McCain is super popular there. I know Ron is popular in Michigan too, but the man himself can't be everywhere at the same time. The grassroots are doing a great job there, keep it up! :)

I think it was a wise decision to go to Nevada and campaign because our support there is huge, and it's mostly urban concentrated in the south! Good call!

I am now starting to think that either he doesn't want to win, or that he is the most brilliant political strategist in history. Please god let it be the latter.

I have spent so much time and effort here it is unreal, I've done all I can without having my woman leave me, and for the first time in 10 months I am truly discouraged. I have no political experience, but I really hope he knows what he's doing. T

I would have liked to see more from the Official Campaign. BUT
They were very surprised with the turn out at the Mackinac Conference.
They were overwhelmed with the U of M Rally.
Michigan is a sleeping Giant.
Lets surprise them again.
Michigan is Arrakis, Harsh, barren, but rich.
We are the Fremen, our numbers are unknown.
We are strengthened by the harshness of our world.

Let the sleeper awake.

I don't think he wants to lose, but I think this may be a critical mistake. Perhaps MI voters/grassroots people should contact National and talk some sense into them.

Not one TV ad. There was a radio ad awhile back, but I haven't heard it lately. I feel like we're the ugly stepchild. Just looked over.
