Ron Paul HQ Launches Mail Iowa Program!

I just requested 100. That's about 50 bucks in postage and paper... not too rough. Going to look for stationary now...

hey guys, I havent read about what to include with the letter, but I thought about putting these in with my letter. I just edited the template that someone else had put up, and put what I thought we could use. I just realized, thought that I did not include anything about ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION/Border Security. I highly suggest that this be mentioned

The original flyer is in Post #14: http://ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=7231&page=2&highlight=left+right+flyer
it's the SportsDailyWorld link

I removed the Left/Right thing and put a bio about Dr. Paul in its place:

The flyer (with my edits):
=================================================================
Dr. Ron Paul has been the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital during his 10 terms in the House of Representatives. Dr. Paul graduated from the Duke University School of Medicine before proudly serving as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force during the 1960’s. As a physician, he has delivered more than 4,000 babies. He and his wife reside in Lake Jackson, Texas, and they have 5 children and 17 grandchildren.

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul's 20 Year Record
* He has NEVER voted to raise taxes.
* He has NEVER voted to raise congressional salaries.
* He has NEVER voted for an unbalanced budget.
* He has NEVER voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
* He has NEVER voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

* He voted to hunt down Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice.
* He voted AGAINST the Iraq War.
* He voted to PROTECT civil liberties and free speech.
* He voted AGAINST regulating the internet.

* He does NOT participate in the lucrative congressional pension program
* He returns a portion of his congressional budget to the U.S. Treasury every year.

Tired of Politics as usual?
Dr. Paul is a man of honesty with a consistent voting record.
Vote Ron Paul for President!

Don't forget the quote from Judge Andrew Napolitano...

"...In his heart and in his head, in his character and in his intellect, in what he has done and in what he will become the Thomas Jefferson of our day. Ron Paul is one of us!"

I think one main issue to stress is national defense. A lot of people think that if you are opposed to the Iraq War, then you are soft on defense. We need to emphasize that Dr. Paul wants to hunt down Osama bin Laden, maintian a strong national defense, and secure our borders

Is it just me, but I think i'd be kinda freaked out getting a handwritten letter from a stranger that knew my name and address. Anyway just my two cents not trying to discourage anybody but just my thoughts on this whole thing.

Perhaps. I'm going to type all of mine because I have the handwriting of a doctor LOL.

You know the BEST way that this could be done?

Target Marketing

Some how if we could get the addresses of specific groups (say Farmers). then we could give them a custom message about how Ron Paul would benefit them, like INDUSTRIAL HEMP or less government intervention, ect. I think that Iowans will appreciate a candidate who thinks out of the box on agricultural issues, not just CORN CORN CORN and did i mention CORN.

We could always say, mind if I drop by, now that I know where you live maybe I can come over and we talk about Ron Paul. :)

Just be sure to sign them all AND to handwrite their name and address on the outside of the envelope. If you use labels they will be thrown out.

I plan to write my own return address, and use a first class stamp - but use printed destinations. I think making sure the postman can deliver it, trumps the handwritten destination. (I have no disagreement with those who chose to write the destinations, and do it legibly).

There will be personal touches inside the lettergram. (I think using envelopes creates another impediment to having it it read.)

Interesting, I just got mine. Last names LO through LY. They are quick with them. So we need to be, as well. :)

Well this isn't too bad. I should get at least 15 letters out in the morning. Just do some more each night and I should finish them all before the week is out. At the top of each letter I am writing the following, with an art pen:

My name is /real name/. I live in Charlotte, NC - and am writing this
letter voluntarily, without any compensation. I have never given any
money or time to a political candidate, nor ever voted in a primary

Each letter gets signed and I write the return address myself. I can't help but think the taped edges of the lettergrams look like they were handled by a person, too... not automated mail.

Question:

I received my 25 names and addresses but it did not include "...gender, and birth date information for each person you write, so you will have an idea of who the person is" like the email from HQ said it should include.

Did anyone else get gender and birth date information? At least a Mr. or Mrs./Ms. so I know who I'm writing to.

I didn't get any of that either.

I just told gender by first name. If it could have been a man or woman I just wrote the full name.
I just finished my 20 so I guess I'll ask for more.

Birthdate is one of the key fields for positively identifying someone for tracking purposes. I think it's best that they leave it off.

They're not going to provide gender and age. Something about them not having time to send everyone separate attachments with that info.

Well I have figured out that 1 person can handwrite 50 addresses to the envelopes in an hour's time.

Those of you writing the whole letter out by hand, God bless you. My arm feels like it's gonna fall off right now and I just did names and addresses. :)

Yeah, gone are the days when I had to write 3 page essays with ink for tests in my English literature class. :) Typing is so much easier. Still, gotta get some handwriting on those things.

BUMP.

People, quit griping about "unfair polls" and "biased reporters". JOIN this mailing effort and contact Iowans directly.
