Ron Paul HQ Launches Mail Iowa Program!

Bump

I'm up to 50 completed lettergrams out of 100 addresses.

Plenty of room is left more more volunteers to join, I'm sure! Get those Iowans some mail, people...

For anyone not helping out in the mailing yet, it's actually pretty quick once you work out the kinks. I suggest people print out the letter and then just write a two sentence message in handwriting. Address the envelope by hand. That's very important so that people know it's coming from a human being.

Peer pressure. I'll request 100. :) I'm going to find at least some nice textured paper to write on, keep it simple, and to mitigate the creepy factor of getting a letter from a stranger, I think I'll include my cell number if they want to talk. But also refer them to the WEBSITE for issues. I'm a firm believer that 99.9% of people out there are not out to get you.

It's not that weird to get letters from strangers. I get invitations from local churches, new small businesses, Realtors, handymen etc that can obtain my name from the property tax rolls.

Besides, most of us are not even in Iowa. I don't think it's going to alarm anyone.

It will be interesting to see if any of them write back. I can imagine some bored, retired people who don't get much mail from their families anymore, actually doing that. :)

I have awful handwriting. I'm considering printing a letter and signing each one by hand and filling out the envelope by hand.

Should I write the letter anyway, even though my son's handwriting has been better than mine since he was about 4? :o

Just our of curiosity, is this going to continue after the Iowa Straw Poll?

No, just print it out then.

Be sure to sign your name AND write the addresses on the outside. If you use labels on the outside they will be tossed in the garbage without being opened.

I requested my names.
I am going to have a hand writen envelope and a printed letter with the issues flier. The letter will be hand signed also.
Is this to long?

Dear Iowa Patriot,

I am sure you are aware of the problems this country is facing today. From our soldiers being killed and wounded in overseas conflicts, increasing tax burdens, illegal immigration, to the almost 9 trillion dollar national debt.

It would seem there is little the average person could do to change the course.

The solution is the same today as it was once before in this countries history, the need for a drastic departure from the way our government operates. Our federal government needs to return to what the founding fathers intended it to be. That is a government of the Constitution, a limited federal government, based on non intervention and free trade with other nations. A government that does not step out of line with the will of the people.

I urge you to please take a few minutes, think of the issues at hand and help make a difference. This is even more so important if you have children. Please do not let us pass on a legacy of war and debt to the future.
We can not just continue going about our daily lives and hope others will solve the countries problems, we the people, need to get involved.

Some of you may feel it is still early and you have time, but you do not. The front running candidates are talking the same old talk, we and our children, will get the same old results.
Ron Paul is talking different, and we will get different results from his leadership.

Please for the sake of our country and our children, take the time to vote in the Ames straw poll.
It is time to put our country before our political party.

We CAN do this, and we MUST.

Has anyone considered sending hand written post cards as opposed to letters.

A 6" x 4.25" post card can provide a world of information and the postal rate is only $.24 as opposed to $.41.
