Ron Paul Film "Elektable" Premieres Thursday June 28th

corny . could i do better ? nope .

i originally thought this was going to be a documentary though .

I don't know. There seem to be a "He's catchin' on, i'm tellin ya" vibe to the whole thing.

It'll never turn people like this video did, which to this day is one of the very best:

What inspired me to support Ron Paul several years ago was watching and listening to actual Ron Paul soundbites. I learned about his message by hearing it from the "horse's mouth."

The problem I have with this video is it's full of bad acting and drags along. Richter could probably cut the first 2 to 3 minutes and jump straight to the underlying theme: "What if the media had to tell the truth?" That's a good premise.

However, it's a mishmash of fake reporters and "name dropping" of youtubers, Ben Swann, etc, with no actual soundbites from them, Ron Paul, the hypocrite media, or testimonies from real supporters.
Valid points.

I agree. It was rather underwhelming. I was pumped to share this video on multiple non-Paul forums, but won't be doing so now, it would honestly get laughed at and picked apart ruthlessly. It did have a corny vibe as you say. Videos like A New Hope makes light bulbs go off in the minds of people watching you. You become intrigued with this man and it pulls you in to explore more.

I'll continue sharing the updated For Liberty film though. That film makes me proud to be a supporter and gives people new to Paul a glimpse on the inside to see what was really going on behind the scenes, both to Ron Paul's candidacy and how amazing his supporters are. It was important we came across well-read, intelligent, and informed. Our energy and enthusiasm in that film was a bit infectious to anyone viewing it, Paul supporter or not. I was really hoping this film would have the same documentary feel For Liberty had. I was hoping it would essentially be an update on things and everything going on and put in more substance, i.e. back up what Paul says with experts and explore things a bit deeper. Show the logic behind his and his supporters stances. Oh well, it is what it is.

I had no preconceived idea of what I would see, although I've been waiting for it since the 2000 like challenge.
I liked it. I think a few of the blackouts are a bit long (I thought it was over at least twice before it was). But overall, I think it has an audience, and as I stated earlier, maybe some in the MSM if they see it.

I disagree with it being completely for hardcores, but I understand that reaction. I think part of it is a tribute to the grassroots, and how they spread the messages of Ron Paul. The other part is for those who have never seen beyond what the MSM provides.

Richter said a lot of the dialogue was like reading a thread at the Daily Paul, and in some cases, taken straight from it. To people who spend a lot of time here and over there, it seems redundant, but for one who is new to it, there are a lot of references to grassroots media they have never heard of. This is the most important asset of the film, because rarely does this audience ever actively search like we used to 6-7 years ago - the internet now comes to them :

In the interview Richter did with Tracy Diaz, he did say there will be a shorter version without the bikini girl, around 4-5- minutes.

That was a good vid! Thanks :)

Doug said that they needed a few people to do SEO some time back to prepare the US public for the possibility that Ron would win the GOP nomination. Perhaps this is a part of that? (He's catchin' on, ya know)

Here's the youtube of the interview (post-release) with Richter by Matt Larsen and Tracy Diaz:

One of the things that "Elektable" does is cover the "blackout" in a different way. We've had grassroots anti-blackout videos that were very good, but did it reach anyone but us? Maybe this one will reach others in a way that "brings it home" to them.
After all, it was not just cheating and fraud that hurt the Ron Paul supporters, but the MSM was a big part of it all.
