Ron Paul Film "Elektable" Premieres Thursday June 28th

I love how whenever a supporter comes out with something it always gets trashed as not being good enough. I would like for all of you movie making gurus out there to make your own film so I can see how badass you are or more likely to ridicule your skills on the internet.

I hope a lot of the people on the MSM see it and start to get a concience.
I think the MSM employees are one target audience. They know they weren't supposed to give his name recognition.
And another target, maybe soft Mitt/Santorum Supporters?

Not what I thought it was going to be, but, good enough.

It was more of a giant advertisement for alternative media and an indictment on current anchors and journalists across the country.

Spread worthy, for sure.

Meh. It just seemed like a bunch of talking points from this website or the Daily Paul spliced together but having actors read them instead.

Woke up this morning hoping it was just a bad dream last night. Nope. Sorry, but that was really bad and it certainly isn't going to change any minds of the delegates to vote for Ron Paul. Bad music, gratuitous and meaningless girl in bikini, bad acting, very little substance. I could find a few nice things to say but they are overshadowed by all the rest. Certainly not something I would like to see made viral.

But carry on....

This is, among other things, the predictable consequence of hyping up your video the way Jeremy did.

There's a reason even the most successful and critically-acclaimed artists are humble in public. Had he simply released the video without the fanfare and hype, the reactions, if still negative, would at least be more tempered as the video would simply be judged on its own merits. When you promote your video as being better than all the videos other people have put out and act like you're in a class all by yourself, most people don't like to hear that, especially if you're an unknown quantity to them.

I admire the effort and the production value and this video does have a clever premise, but to me at least it feels like it missed the mark. I think we as a movement are always searching for that icebreaker video, that video we can say to our friends and family "just watch this ONE video and I think it'll convince you that you need to hear more about this stuff." Sadly this video, in my view, does not fit that bill at all.

As far as appealing to Tampa delegates, I do think the appeal at the end could be the beginnings of a separate video aimed directly at appealing to the conscience of those delegates. I must admit the hypothetical newscast about the Ron Paul vs. Obama debate was a very inspiring moment. Then again, it is inspiring to me as a Ron Paul supporter -- to a Romney delegate in Tampa maybe that will sound like "Herman Cain vs. Obama"...

Sorry to be negative, I did enjoy the video and appreciate the hard work that went into it.

Me thinks, 90% of these negative comments wouldn't have been a thought back in 2007-08. Our people was putting out just about every other day a new and exciting video. Windows Movie Maker was our best friend (LOL) I don't remember all this hate back then.

No need for establishment to continue putting forth efforts in the "divide" portion of 'divide and conquer' IMO, we'll divide ourselves just fine alone, on fucking EVERYTHING, trivial to imperative. It's just everyone's frustration though showing through I think, knowing what you really know to be true in the back of your mind, while feeling what little power we felt we had slipping away at an ever increasing pace, so I don't blame anyone really. We're all human.

What inspired me to support Ron Paul several years ago was watching and listening to actual Ron Paul soundbites. I learned about his message by hearing it from the "horse's mouth."

The problem I have with this video is it's full of bad acting and drags along. Richter could probably cut the first 2 to 3 minutes and jump straight to the underlying theme: "What if the media had to tell the truth?" That's a good premise.

However, it's a mishmash of fake reporters and "name dropping" of youtubers, Ben Swann, etc, with no actual soundbites from them, Ron Paul, the hypocrite media, or testimonies from real supporters.

What HATE???:toady::confused: All I've seen is criticism...just because you don't like hearing the criticism don't mean we "hate" it.

The guy hyped up RED footage-and then barely showcased it, or added a retro TV effect to most of it. You don't hype using RED cameras, and then destroy the footage with black and white or effects like that. Where's the hate here? It's just my opinion, and that of those who know what RED cameras are capable of.

The acting was unconvincing and cheesy. Where's the hate here? Just calling a spade a spade.

I've shared it-so obviously I don't hate it, it just was not anything like he hyped it up to be, and as a current student in this very industry, I just see a lot that could have been done a little better, and it doesn't matter either way-it's just my opinion. Not hate.

All in all, I thought it was a decent short film.

That, too, didn't put it in my previous reply, lest I be accused of being a hater.:p

I dunno, I as a reader, seeing criticism and critiquing is good. But when you see the same people in multiple posts, multiple threads targeting our own over and over .. I comes off as more than just a simple criticism or critique. When it rolls off the thread and continues on other threads not related to the original subject of criticism - it's clearly (to me) more than a criticism or critique.

I see this happening alot lately. It didn't used to be like this. JMO.

Like I said, yes, because of the way Richter hyped this up, there is more than just the normal criticism. He pretty much anointed himself God's gift to Ron Paul Video and publicly presumed everyone would go bananas over this video, and so anytime you have someone proclaiming their awesomeness, it naturally inspires people to want to see them knocked off their pedestal. Nobody likes hubris.

I'm sure Richter meant well, but he really stepped in it.

If I had just seen the video pop up without having watched the self-hyping videos before it, I'd probably be here writing about how much I liked this video. I still wouldn't share it with non-Paul fans because I feel there are many more effective pieces for converting people. But I do really like this video, I just think it can't deliver on what it was supposed to be and because its creator insisted on having it judged in that lens I find it hard to detach myself from considering it a failure in reaching that target audience.

Jeremy said he did his best and was proud of his production and idea.

My mom does this all the time with her newly creative cuisine ideas - so proud to serve them to guests at the table .. and dad will gladly backhand anyone who would say the food tastes like shit at the table.

Just saying.

I'm sorry but that's just not the way he spoke in the videos, this is revisionist history. I understand what you're saying and I feel like a jerk being the one to rip on him like this -- and maybe I am being a jerk and will go and delete these posts later...but there is a difference between pride and hubris, even if the hubris is unintentional, and the latter is clearly what is on display in all those promotional videos.

Anyway, that's gonna be my last word on this because as I said, I DO like Jeremy's film, it's just that when I see it promoted the way he did I think of the hundreds of other RP video creators, some of whom made amazing videos, and none of whom I can ever recall hyping them up the way Jeremy did, and I feel like it's a disservice to them and to their humility for me to not point this out.

Anyway, awesome video and I hope we'll see more from Jeremy. Sorry to be a grinch.

Such a weak argument. I pointed out what I saw from the film and that was it. I didn't personally insult the film maker, did I? So according to your logic, only film makers can be critical of a film? Don't get your panties in a bunch just because I don't praise everything that is associated with Ron Paul and the movement. To do so would be to accept mediocrity.
