Ron Paul Delegates Set to Mount First Ballot Upset at GOP National Convention

By the Humble Libertarian although here he is posting somewhere else.

Note that it relies on us having a majority of the delegates at RNC, so it isn't really new, but the article is new.

This CONvention is going to be like NO other CONvention.

Slugfest Extraordinaire! You can take that to the bank!

We had better watch out if that is the case, because no matter who does it, it will be "our fault".

Congratulations on Maine, Sunny! I haven't seen you around since.

If they saw a chance of this I'm pretty sure they'd refuse to seat some states or pull some trickery/cheating to prevent it or invalidate it. I want it to happen and I'm hoping they'll force them to start acting sketchy to try to counter it. It's a long shot they'll let it work, but I haven't lost hope that we can cause an upset in our favor :-)
And even if it didn't work it might well help to expose some of the corruption that goes on and might get some more people to our side when they see their voting and the system are just an illusion to how people get selected. Let's cause a little chaos because if everything is calm we're probably getting shafted and not fighting where we should.

I believe this to be the case. If you read between the lines yesterday when Jessie used the MSM numbers on delegates. I knew he was saying something that everybody should read between the line. Jessie knows those numbers are bogus. He even went on Msnbc and got into that shouting match about the numbers. With everyone calling for Jessie's job is crazy. You don't think Ron Paul is calling the shots. This is all strategy and if all of you are patient this will develop. We cannot win all these state conventions without playing possum for a couple of weeks. The delegates are going to keep coming. By then it will be to late for Romney to gather the troops to lie, cheat, and abuse the revolution. Please all of you get to your state conventions this weekend and cause HELL.

I did a quick search and I didn't find anything, and it probably deserves its own thread, but a week and a half ago Obama signed into law HR 347. This legislation was introduced by Republican Tom Rooney of Florida and passed in the House with only 2 votes against and Ron Paul's abstention. This bill strengthens legislation passed during Clinton's administration and is a serious attack on our 1st amendment rights of speech, and suppresses political protest and activity which disrupts the orderly conduct of official functions. This is bad, really bad. Google this if you are unaware of what just happened. I'm predicting that the Republican Convention could be the first exercise of this power.

Wouldn't we have needed Oklahoma and Arizona to have had an actual shot at that?

We have OKC. We will have to fight for AZ using rule 15(b) as an opening then putting forth the rest of it.

There's a splendid example of one of the vote counters at the GOP HQ secret "3 days later meeting", twitting derogatory things about Ron Paul supporters to all his buddies at the GOP AZ while he is counting votes.

That isn't going to look good in a court case, nor any of the rest of it.

As long as we adhere to Party rules and rightfully push that narrative, we cannot be held at fault.

Incredible article, best one of the day/week/month/year. I'm now convinced that the campaign has simply shifted into fifth gear. The delegate strategy is a WINNING strategy; there is a very real chance of nominating RP in August.

The campaign and the grassroots are fumbling with the simplicity of this strategy, which has allowed the media to (again) claim defeat, and caused a few of us to lose faith. Allow me to reassure you, this is the winning formula:

*The majority of state conventions have not yet been held
*This means the majority of delegates have not been selected
*Become or support RP delegates wherever possible, bound or otherwise
*Court Romney delegates to vote RP at convention
*Win first ballot, watch the fireworks

To those who have participated in caucuses and conventions thus far, you have fought steep uphill battles, worked so hard, and won. You've given us a glimpse of what we're up against. Thank you for your efforts.

Very good write-up. It's interesting to consider that the entire "bound" stuff is fabricated. Wouldn't surprise me though. We need to continue rocking these conventions.
