Ron Paul declined CPAC so that he could campaign

I'm relieved that he will be on the campaign trail, rather than at home.

When he stayed in Lake Jackson and skipped the Huckabee forum in SC, I fist-faced. I mean face-palmed.

I feel this is a huge mistake. The coverage you get alone is worth it.
They barely covered it the last two years he won it. What makes you think they would do it this time?

Just sayin'...

Unless Romney or Gingrich wins the straw poll.

Then they will say one of the two:

"Romney makes comeback after losing CPAC two years in a row to Ron Paul!"

"Conservatives rally around Gingrich!"

Rand will give them a rousing speech calling for the blood of Iranian children and the sheep will raise him up on their shoulders.

Thanks for clearing this up. Forums 'bout to asplode up in here!

I think he might as well skip it.

The Republican establishment already knows that Ron Paul has dominated CPAC in recent years. They're probably already thinking of ways to ignore a Ron Paul win (again).

It's really sad, though, that so many 'conservatives' suddenly lost interest in CPAC once Ron Paul won. It used to be the 'national fair' of the GOP; so much hullabaloo. Then Ron Paul wins, and they're like, "you know what I just realized? CPAC sucks."

It's almost laughable how quickly the establishment was able to turn off the importance of CPAC.

I'm glad I read through the thread- this is exactly my assessment of CPAC, and what a Ron Paul appearance might garner in his favor, which is NOTHING. The media will only pull the same stunts (airing so-called "live" video with BOO's added- or airing totally unrelated footage from some other convention with unruly crowds boo'ing Zombie Reagan... you get the picture.)

Just skip it. Or, if you choose to go, treat it as a masquerade ball and wear the adornments of Newtie or Willard, but vote for Paul in their lame straw poll.

Seriously? I think Ron will get 500X GOOD coverage for not attending this year. Just look at all that "good" coverage he got for attending & winning last time! /Sarc

well I was planning to attend this year whether anyone good was speaking ... also hannan is speaking there saturday

Thank you Matt for the information, I sure hope the Campaign begins the Official Pledge Site for the February 14th thru 17th Money Bomb this week!!!

We really need all the time we can to promote this MUST HAVE Money Bomb. My guess is that you will need to raise $5 Million during the 5 day period to reach Ron's Goal of $9.7 Million by February 18th.

Good.

It means no hobnobbing with Hannity (who just announced he'll be hosting some 'forum' there).

BailoutFreedom.com should go up later tonight. The theme was grassroots even though the campaign is going to promote it so to the best of our knowledge the pledge site that will be used is the one we're putting up. And yeah, for the time being pledge on No One But Paul since both themes are running on the 14th of February. :)
