Ron Paul coming up live next on Morning Joe on MSNBC, 6/20/12

my 86 year old grandma... she never worked in the US. she came to the USA from hong kong like 30 years ago.

she gets free healtcare (medicine costs tax payers 900 dollars a month, excluding doctor visits) and social security (like 700 dollars a month i believe from tax payers) and monetary aid for my aunt that takes care of my grandma (i dont know the exact costs, but i believe its 300-400ish from tax payers). My grandpa worked during his life in the US and paid taxes, so I guess its ok.

WTF?

Sam Stein, "Have you asked, have you been asked, by Mitt Romney to have a speaking portion at the convention?"

When the hell does a candidate determine who speaks @ RNC national conventions? Damn, forgot, it's a Politburo...

In the new paradigm where the conventions are $18 million grand parties, the anointed ones are usually given what they ask for.

the only social contract i know of is the Constitution and i never signed it.

Um, about the S.S.:

according to the law, all Congressmen must contribute to it. There is nothing wrong imo, for gaining back the money you spent. It's not like Dr. Paul had a CHOICE to participate. I want to remind every liberal poster in the newspaper comment sections today about this, because it's all they're writing: "Social Security--Ron Paul" etc.

The Social Contract; because a thief will always try and justify their action.

Let's say we should be noble and help others when we have the means to help. What part of that social contract then warrants force for people not spending their money how I are a collection of I's determine it would best be spent?

Nothing says I do not think about my own actions more so than argument for the social contract.

Lol. Should have opened with what he ended with and that's the fact that currently at his age he is paying more into Social Security than he receives.

The State - "Yes sir you've reached retirement age but we're still going to tax your earnings so money is there when you retire!"

/epic facepalm

Sell a couple of Nimitz class carriers. Money goes into soc sec...problem solved.

How the government does business: Create dollars out of thin air using treasury back deficit financing. Purchase something on a cost-plus contract guaranteeing a corporations profits, who also promises to employ unionized shipyard workers. Sell the ship to keel breakers and get pennies on the dollars (which have been further devalued over the intervening 10-40 years). Add the meager receipts to the national ledger. Hold a Rose Garden meeting and self congratulate yourself for making the "tough decision" to "save" a socialist program.

And this is different from how Social Security has been run thus far, how?

XNN

What he is doing is great for the party and for the world.

The trouble with opting out of social security is that there is no real way to save any more.

Stocks and the other commodities just appear to change value but it is only an illusion created by the devaluation of the currency. Then you owe capital gains on the false profits.

Banking is dead in both directions. Interest on deposits doesn't keep up with inflation at the rates they pay depositors. If you had a lot of money and wanted to start loaning you could never be able to compete with the criminals that have taken over. You would have to charge for the risk to your capital. They on the other hand have been just printing themselves up a bailout when they loose and stiff all of us with the bill.

See the Super Dollar below if you still don't get it. VVVVV

That is one of the things that comes with living in a Republic. It was signed for us by our Representatives at the time.

About to watch the video. Was there any talk about Ron Paul's bid for the nomination?

i finally watched this...

He literally destroyed everything they threw at him for 14min (from like 8 to 13 he was on FIRE) and then they threw in the dumbest cheap shot at the end.

That's where Ron's niceness subtly hurts him... he should have turned over and explained how he didn't take the much more lucrative pension program (but he doesn't self promote) and easily should have explained because he paid into social security he should be allowed to get paid back.

He started to ramble...

Paul says we pay more into Social Security than we get out of it. Mika says that doesn't make any sense at the end. Mika is an idiot. She thinks that if you put $20 in and take out $40 twenty years later, that you have taken more than you have paid in. But what she is not grasping is that which is unseen (Bastiat). What would you have done with that $20? If you had invested that on your own, you would have had over $100 and the overall economy would have been benefitting from it in the meantime. So, Mika, what does not make sense to you is a demonstration of your ignorance rather than a non-sensical statement by the good doctor.
